I Need Your Help Guys!!!

Ok here's the problem... ATCO is saturday (STILL GOING)... But today coming home from work the MALFUNCTION LIGHT CAME ON!!! (looks like a check engine light)... I haven't added anything new ro the car and even did the easy stuff like check the gas cap... according to the book it says drive it normally several times it could be bad gas or something easy like that... But it also says if it starts flashing bring it in right away!!! Now I don't know what it can be because the light covers everything from engine, transmission, or cat. coverters... when I had the other charger that light never came on even when I had the tranny plug leak... Do you think I should just disconnect the battery to see if it resets itself? I was going to see if I can get the car in on friday because I took the day off but I don't want them holding the car for days... For reasons like the dealer is a 1/2 hr away and ATCO on saturday... Any help on fixing this myself would as always be greatly appreciated!!!!

do the key dance.......acc,on,acc,on,acc,on and see what code comes up......bet it's p0128 from your 180* t-stat.....if so clear it and don't worry about it.

LOL Friggin ironic,i just got a light too,the cars at 402,so i'll do this when i get it back Thanks.

OK guys I didn't realize it till after Eric told me to check for the code... BUT I don't have EVIC!!! how do I see this code? or should I just put back the original t-stat for the winter? .............. chris

chris if the car is running fine drive it for a few days and it should go away....unless you get the code you can not confirm that it is in fact the t-stat.....so drive and see if goes away first

Chris, if I'm not mistaken, the 'key-dance' will display the codes where the odometer is. I don't think you need the EVIC. Try it and let us know.

I tried the key dance and nothing showed... Sould I change the t-stat back? or drive it a few days? I can't get a dealer appointment till atleast the 13th anyway.... THANKS GUYS........ Chris

Use your Diablo Predator to read the code and then to clear it.

Should be your first step.

Try key dance more quicker. I did few times and nothing came up until someone told me I have to do it faster. The code came up. It was P0128.
