    Thumbs up Cruzin New England

Just a little howdy from ohio. My wife & I got our Charger R/T back in Sept. We headed to New England Sept 30 & stayed 2 weeks. Our 2nd trip, 1st was in '98. Beautiful country. Stayed in Conn as base. Went thru all 6 states up there. Hemmings gas station is an adult playground. I won't bore you with the whole trip, let's just say it's exactly what my atty's, doctors and therapists said to do. (I'd been in a bad wreck in 2002) Petty experience was at NHIS. Kool ride. Try it next time they're there. Anyway we ventured 3,007 miles that 2 weeks. Musta had 1 of the 1st Chargers thru there, got looks, thumbs up, people stopping us to chat. We'll be back thru again, maybe this fall. If you see Inferno Red with twin black stripes & Ohio plates, that'll be us. My wife wanted to see a moose so I took her to Big Moose's H/D in Portland Ma. Beautiful Heritage Classic Softail in Pepsi (no other soda like it) blue, wide whites. Hmmm, get another settlement check and we might not wait. We did average over 20 mpg on highway & byway & city streets. Like I said, Beautiful country, we'll see you next time passin thru..........

I would definitely like more details here... we've been wanting to find a fall to go through NE for a long, long time. Now that we have the perfect vehicle for doing so (300C), we're gonna go... but probably not until fall, 2007. Already have the driving trips planned for this year, most of it... 23 days to S. Calif. via AR, OK, TX, NM, AZ, and back thru NV, UT, CO, NE, MN, IL, etc.
Still in love with my first wife, and first car ('68 Charger)... Still have the wife!

If your going to do a fall trip to New England, start here, http://www.acadiamagic.com/CadillacMountain.html , before peak colors. The drive back would be colorful most of the time. I miss the colors of fall. I grew up in CT and here in AR we go from green to brown in about two weeks time.

The Magnum has a soul. It has a personality, something all too lacking in the automotive transportation appliances everybody else is offering.

I know what your talking about. Use to live in CT & NH. Loved it in the fall up there. Wife and I are going back this fall to see the sites.

We used AAA Trip Tick, told them where we wanted to go what we wanted to see. We got tour books of all 6 states. Bought a video about N.E. It recommended 1st 2 wks in October. There was lots of rain 2nd week we were there. We stayed in Conn near top of Long Island Sound. Sometimes we gambled on getting a hotel room, sometimes AAA did it. We didn't follow trip tick all the time-side trips into American history. Beautiful all the way up the coast (watch out I-95 N of NYC) into the forsets and mountains. You'd go from few hundred feet elevation to 2500+ in just a few minutes and then look right or left & see mountains towering over you. Man! I'll tell you what, get a good road atlas, a good travel video, a good American history book, put it all together, drool for a while, then live your dream. We picked spot in Conn near New London cause it was about 1/2 way from NYC to Boston. If you wanted to ride train to either place it was about 2 hour ride. I've been lots of places, well over a million miles driving, NEW ENGLAND refreshed more than anywhere else, especially in the fall. Don't forget to look for out of the way places like little roadside motel just south of Dartmouth College on the banks of Conn River. We took over 20 hrs of video. There's web sites too are good. I'll find 1 again & post it. It was a classic stainless diner. We should've ate there, but my wife at least took pics. Just recently found it on a web site. More to come...if you want...from me Larry383

    Cool Cruzin New England

That web site for the classic diner in New Hampshire is http://www.rememberwhendiner.com/
It' pretty kool web site with inside & outside views & off the beaten path, but close enuff. Has their menu-look & see for yourself. It was doing brisk business when we were there 1st week of October. On a scale of 1-5, I'd say it's still a 10. Family (wife, 2 sons, daughter-in-law I call my daughter, grandaughter & me mother, brother, sisters, et. al. sez I'm strange, maybe even crazy, but life is never boring. Gonna ride my crutches out to the garage n work on my 67 Coronet. Try to catch up to my engine builder so we can put engine in when car goes back to the frame shop for frame tie & roll bar. c ya!!!!!!!!!Larry 383

We do have some beautiful areas up here. I did the Richard Petty Driving Experience a few years ago. It was a very good time! I'd like to do it again on one of the big tracks like Daytona.
