I contacted the Event manager at Carlisle and the LX community is being noticed. When registering your car for the event please make sure you specify if it is an RT,SRT,Daytona, etc. They are going to increase the amount of classes avaliable if we can prove to them that we are going to have great turnout again. Please make sure you specify when registering. Here is the response I received from the Event Manager at Carlisle:
Hi Paul,
My name is Ed Buczeskie and I am the Event Manager for the All-Chrysler Nationals. You are absolutely right about the LX Charger class last year. In fact, it was the largest class at the show and it will be divided this year. I haven’t decided exactly how it will be divided yet. Your breakout makes sense based on the differences between the cars but I also have to look at the car count and make sure that there will be enough cars in each class when I break it out. I knew the LX classes would be ones to watch and if you noticed I did add a few more classes for them last year but I wasn’t expecting that much growth!!
I might be calling on you for some input because as you may know when people register they don't always list the "trim level" of their cars. When registering all we ask for is YEAR, MAKE and MODEL so most people just list 2008 DODGE CHARGER. Yes, some will specify if it's an R/T, SRT, Super Bee or Daytona but not everybody does that. That means that I will need to look at photos and get opinions from people who were in that class to estimate how many R/T, SRT, Super Bee and Daytona models were actually here last year AND I need to guestimate how many more there might be this year.
It will probably be about a month before I really start to work on this because I like to have as many cars pre-registered as possible so I can have a more accurate picture of what cars will be at the show. In the meantime, if you have any data regarding how many of each type of Charger listed above was in the class last year feel free to email it to me at any time.
This was one situation that I was already aware of but I do appreciate constructive emails such as yours. I can't be everywhere and see everything so I truly do count on the participants. I am a die-hard Mopar guy but who knows more about a particular class than someone who owns that type of car and actually enters the class??
Thanks again!!
Ed
