Hood Shocks for 2006 LX cars (that came with rods) *

I tried to post this before we left for the day but couldn't.
I don't think anyone was happy that the shocks were removed from the 2006 Magnums and the prop rod added instead. It is very easy to add the shocks. My husband had them on in 5 minutes and they work like a dream. I know because he made me go out and open the hood and shut it in case I needed to do it when he wasn't with me. Like buttah!

Try a local dealer or maybe an online or brick and mortar parts retailer and make sure you get the ball studs
    Magnitude ordered with these numbers
    05065278-AD
    05065279-AD
from mopar supercenter.com and he had to go to a dealer to get his ball studs. I think they are readily available.

They are easy to put on and work great. My husband does some of our servicing so he likes not having the prop in the way. I like them because it is easier for me to manage while showing the hemi off.

Are the shocks the same length for the Charger hood?

I wonder if they got deleted because the lack of strength in the aluminum hoods. It would be a bummer to fold your hood because of the hyd supports and get to eat it because you "modified" the props.

That would be a good thing, was just a fleeting thought.

I tried to order the shocks through my local dealer and was told they are discontinued and can not be ordered.
Is there an alternative source for the Hood shocks?

Geez - is the whole world filled with incompetance? Maybe it's that being a DCX dealer requires you to lose 3/4's of whatever common-sense you once had?

If something is discontinued, wouldn't it be a clever thing to actually find out and know what it was replaced with?

I love my Black Magnum RT, but having to deal with DCX dealers is beginning to annoy me to no end. I'm about to start thinking that purging the driveway of Dodge products will be the next step. Not real sure I'll be buying another one, and we have two that are due for replacement this year.

Where's that dude who was spamming in here a while back? some sort of 'public-relations' guy? I dare him to contact me...typical though, all talk and no action...

The replacement is the Hood Prop Rod that comes on all the 2006 models.
    According to the service guy.

By the way, the propper tap you will need to make threads in the hole in the fender is metric M8 1.25. Don't forget the oil to lube the tap (any oil).
