Cabin filter retrofit on a non-equipped car
    by MagnumFreak & Propman

    Cabin Filter replacment #:
    04596501AB

DC parts needed for the retrofit:
If you order part number 04806294AA you get EVERYTHING you need INCLUDING the filter for only $21 and change!

Here are some pics of the cabin filter removal. (this does not show how to install the retrofit...pics coming soon!)

If you open your hood, the cover for the filter is on the left side near the windshield:

    Here is the cover removed:

Here is the filter with the inner cover removed. The cover just pivots out of the way:

And here is the filter out of the holder:

Gee, it seems like every mod I've done before joining this forum has already been detailed. It is a great deal for $20 to get the $25 alone filter with the plenum. Just a note, there is a wire harness clipped to the bottom of the plenum that has to be released before removing the plenum. It's similar to a Christmas tree fastener. Also, use care when remoming the foam block seals on the outer edges of the cowl screens. The have intergral Christmas tree fasteners- get a clip tool under the seals or else you will rip the seals.

Adds a filter for the A/C and heater. It filters the air coming inside. Not everyone has this installed from the factory.
