How to: Remove and Install A Pillar Covers

    Removal

    Step 1
Open the door and locate the small piece of trim that runs along the side of the dash.

Simply grab onto the top or bottom and pull the piece toward you. It will pop off.

    Step 2
Pull the weather strip off the pinch weld from around the pillar. You don't need to remove the entire section of stripping, like I did...

    Step 3
Grab onto the top of a pillar cover and pull toward you. It won't come completely off right away. There is a stud connected on the top of the pillar. Reach your fingers behind the cover and pinch in the tabs of the piece holding the stud and the pillar cover will release.

    Your pillar is removed!

    Installation

    Step 1
Locate the plastic retainer on the cover's stud and remove it.

Install the clip in the hole of the a pillar frame by gently pinching and inserting.

    Step 2
Insert the bottom section of the pillar cover to the dash.

    Step 3
Line up the tab toward the middle of the cover and the black stud to their respective holes and push the cover back into place.

    Step 4
Reinstall the weather stipping along the pinch weld and the trim piece on the side of the dash.

Congratulations... Your pillar cover is installed!

Great write up. You don't happen to know the color of the wire used for the courtesy lights in the map holder. I want the wire that goes hot when you unlock the doors but is timed. I would like to run puddle lights under the car but only want them on when the courtesy lights are on the timer.

Thanks for the write up. I just got an A-pilar mount for my Trinity and will be installing the mounting in the next few days.

Great write up! Anybody help me out with a part number for the black retaining clip with the tabs on it? One of mine broke. Also need a part number for the vent on top of the dash seen in the "step 2" pic... same color as in the pic. Thanks!!!!
