    Auto Window Down/Up Reset Procedure.

I recently accidentally disconnected my battery in my car and noticed that my window Auto Up was no longer working. I stopped by the dealership and this is the procedure we went through to get it working again.

This is for Vehicles equipped with the Auto Window Switches (Marked "Auto" on the switch) for driver and passenger windows.

    1. Turn the key to on.
    2. Roll the window down all the way and hold for 10 seconds. (This resets the auto down)
    3. Pull the switch up and hold for 10 seconds. (This resets the auto up)

They said that if you listen very closely, you could hear a click from the switch after 10 seconds showing that it has reset.

Tada! Your windows will now be able to roll up and down with a single press of the switch.

Excellent timing here. I was about to get on and start a new thread complaining about this!!! Still going to complain a little bit:

I already knew how to fix this problem - but can anyone tell me why it happens CONTINUALLY?!?!?! Literally every day at some point my auto-up/down stops working, and I have to recalibrate.

    Can anyone help?

I had that problem and the dealership initially replaced the driver's door module - didn't do anything for it at all. They searched and came up with the TSB and ordered up the modules for both doors. That fixed it. However I had a suggestion from another member to the effect that the cause was actually static electricity created between me and the driver's seat and when it flashed it obliterated the memory on the door module. That theory was not put to the test as the change of the two modules has fixed the problem.

I have listened for a lot of times but every time I heard no clicks! Also it is interesting that I have read a lot of articles and messages about it, but there are always different times you should wait till let the window switch. Some of them say you should wait for 3 seconds, some say for 5 and 10. What is the correct time?

I read this procedure in the User Guide that came with the car (2007 300C), and I beleive it only needs 2 seconds. Hold down, plus 2 seconds after all the way down, then hold up plus an extra 2 seconds after its up, then it will work ok (it does for me). It fixes mine at that time, but I don't use it that much, but 1/2 the time when I try it again, it fails (but seems to only be the driver side that fails). The TSB covered up to cars dated just a week before mine was built. I wonder if some still got out there afterwards. I will be bringing this up at my next service visit, and will expect them to replace the Door Module(s).

The TSB is 08-011-07 Rev. A, dated Jund 26, 2007.
    2005 - 2007 (LX) Charger/Magnum/300
    2006 - 2007 (LE) 300C/300C Touring (International Markets)
"This bulletin applies to LX models built before March 1, 2007 (MDH0301XX) and LE models built before May 24, 2007 (MDH0524XX)."
The fix was to replace both door modules.
Qty=2 56038720AP Door Module (w/o Memory Mirror System)
    Qty=2 56038722AP Door Module (w/Memory Mirror System)
Qty=2 04602838AC Door Module (2007 with sales code LEC)

    Hope this helps,
    Kevin

Oh, by the way... can you beleive that on my 1st service visit (which I also mentioned this problem (before I knew anything)), the service adviser (she) said that the window tinting on the windows can cause the window regulators to fail. I'm giving them a couple more chance's before I decide to start taking the car to another dealership in town for service.
