    Sunroof Rattle Fix

My Magnum had about 6k when the sunroof started to rattle.
It is covered under the warranty but did not want to get the car back with a dirty headliner, so I fixed it myself.
I searched these forums with no detailed info before I started so I decided to help others with the same problem fix their Sunroofs.

Sun Roof Rattle (very loud) was cause only by 1 loose bolt on each side, sounded like all were loose.

Pulled down headliner (partial) on both sides and used loctite- blue on those bolts with 10mm head.

    You need:
    Philips #2 Screw driver
    Torx T-20 Driver
Torx T-45 or slightly bigger but 45 worked for seat belt bolt.
10mm socket on a 1/4 ratchet, you need the offset
And a plastic trim tool ( looks like big tongue depresser)- your hands will do with good outward tugs close to Spring clips

    Remove:

Pillar A trim by windshield- just pull upper portion away from pillar. Squeeze black clip on plastic shaft.

The sun visor and visor clip- leave resting on dash.

Pillar trim between doors – pull up partial door sills on both front and rear- remove two screws, one under each side. Remove 2 screws under belt stay.
Remove screw in upper pillar trim—remove seat belt bolt- pull down and outward on the top trim.

Remove 2 screws from rear passage roof handle- leave hanging do not pull it there is no slack in wiring.

Carefully pull headliner from rubber trim around the doors and away from the sunroof trim .

    Thanks for the guidance!

I had a rattle, too. Today, I followed your procedure as a guide. However, I only removed the visors, visor clips, the A pillar trim and the pinch welt around the sunroof opening.

I also removed the lower B pillar cover (four screws), and 1 screw from the upper B pillar cover. This way, you can simply slide the upper B pillar cover down and out of the way of the headliner.

When I dropped the front half of the headliner, 1 bolt fell on my head. When I went around to the passenger side the bolt was missing from the sunroof mechanism, but was nowhere to be found!?!

I went to the local hardware store. Bought a bolt and washer, and installed both bolts with RED Loctite. No more rattle!

Thanks for the guide. It really made things a lot easier!

Update For 300 owners. Thanks to this excellent thread I decided to tackle my sunroof rattles today. I just got in from doing my sunroof and have the following comments to add. The seatbelt Torx bit is a #50. #45 works but as noted in the OP it's loose in the bolt. The screws for the sunvisor are #20 Torx as stated but the rear seat grab handles are #25. Took about 2.5 hours to do being very careful not to bend the headliner and keeping my hands clean to avoid marking the liner. Five of the 12, 10mm bolts were a little too easy to unscrew and I noticed that they did not have and locktight on them. The other five had a really small dab on them, almost invisible if you weren't looking for it, but they unscrewed pretty easily as well. Because of the difference between the Magnum and the 300, I couldn't get at the rearmost two bolts at all
so I just hoped that the rattle wasn't coming from them. It wasn't.
