RockBlockers Install on Charger
Brothers and Sisters of POWER!
Heed me and draw nigh! This is the first in a series of mods as I make them upon my HOLY VESSEL OF HOSSPOWAH named Val!
Brother JAAK if you would cue up the Hymn!
Well SpeedQueen and I had our first mod together!
RockBlockers sent the yellow headlight films that I had requested and I was just ITCHIN to put them in!!
I was about to this when I began to study on the situation. I realized that I was going to need help. MikeH001 had the flu and he was the closest LX’er to me. Then… I thought:
Why not Connie (SpeedQueen)?
She eagerly accepted and together we did as good a job as any perfesh’nal in about 2 hours!
This rates a relaxed yawn on the cat scare-o-meter of difficulty!

Roscoe sez:
WHatever..
I can’t tell you how IMPRESSED I am with this product! I know that a few folks have had some problems with Rockblockers. I can’t speak to that. I will say that there instructions are NOT the best I have seen. So with that in mind, I hereby submit this install as a how-to guide for your benefit!
NOTE:
This project is best done indoors or in a garage with excellent lighting!
We installed these in very bad conditions:
Ambient air temp was 41 degrees
Headlight lenses had 3 coats of thick wax
We had never done this before
It was VERY humid and rainy outside.
Dusty garage
Late in the evening and we were tired.
Here Goes:
You will need:
A Hairdryer
The supplied squeegee
A small spray bottle
Vinyl or polyurethane Gloves (Less powder on them)
A bottle of Rubbing alcohol
A lint free cloth
Patience
A friend (or a hot and schexy wife) is a bonus!

1:
Remove the films from the package and lay them out so that you can easily tell if any are missing. Also make sure that they are on the correct respective side right side up. Remember that the paper goes to the lamp housing. Trial fit with the paper on to make sure that they are cut correctly and will fit. Inspect the films to make sure that they are not blemished in any way. Once you are satisfied that all is good. Lay the pieces to the side on their respective sides of the car so you don’t get them mixed up. Lay them in a clean dry area.

Now notice that I have these positioned on the opposite side lights. Sicne they are mirror opposites I knew that it was ok to check them like this.
2:
Prep time! Grab wife or girlfriend or neghborhood hottie or best friend.

I was lucky to have all four availible
Mix up about 2 cups of alcohol and water. Use rubbing alcohol and not grain so you can keep it all straight!
Mix I cup filtered water and 1 cup Isopropyl alcohol in a clean measuring cup. Then pour it into your cleaned and rinsed sprayer.
Wash your hands and put on the gloves. Get your lint free cloth ready. Get your friend to start heating the surface of the lamp housing with a hair dryer. (make sure that the hair dryer does not have any dust, hair, and crap that it can blow onto the surface of your cleaned lense)

3: LET US SPRAY!!
CAREFULLY start peeling the backing paper away from the film. DO NOT TOUCH THE FILMS ADHESIVE SIDE! Spray the lens really good with the alcohol/water mix about a 1/3 its length.
Spray the adhesive side of the film. DON’T SPARE THE SPRAY!
Now carefully align the edge of the film with the edge of the lens but DO NOT press hard! Folding the paper backer behind the film triple check the alignment/placement of the rest of the film along its length. If it is good, then press down about an inch of film at the starting edge. Now spray more while keeping the hairdryer trained on the edge of the film about to go down. Spray both the film adhesive side and the lens and work the film down very carefully and always checking to make sure that the alignment is on target and not ‘creeping’. You should start with the squeegee working from the long centerline of the film out towards the edges in curving V strokes. PRESS firmly. Being sure to seat the edges.
Keep that hairdryer trained on the very spots you are working. Proceed from one side working toward the other in a linear path.
4:
PAY VERY close attention that you are NOT getting air bubbles caught under the film. If you do, gently and slowly lift the film until the edge of the air bubble is exposed. Then respray and work the film back down. KEEP THAT HAIR DRYER WORKING! Going slowly and methodically all the way the across.

Yah... it was coldfer us Southerners!! All of about 40 degrees!! DEFINITE Hoser bikini weather!
5:
Now that you are all the way across, keep the heat the on the film and spray the film again. Then pressing hard, work form the center out in both direction to smooth out the film. Tiny bubble can be be worked out by pressing hard with the squeegee and using the hairdryer to heat the film enough to soften the adhesive so that the bubbles can be pushed to the edge and out from under the film.

SEE? SCHWEEETNESS!!
6:
If you get to the edge and has some left to wraparound, push down to make sure that it adheres completely. Keep the hairdryer on the edge so that they remain pliable too!
7:
warm the entire thing a little longer and then let cool ..
Here are the finished images from the install:

RH side

Foggie-type-light!
Best way to work this is to keep the film hot and force it down in a cross pattern initially, Then work from the center in a radian pattern.

Lights on taken with no flash.

Tell me that aint Automotopornotastcial!!
This was SO easy.... I did the cat!!! Show'em Roscoe!!!!

Rocoe sez:
MEYOW , dammit! Any body can do this with a little help , heat , and patience! Now get me some katnip fat boy!!
The Rev shows his joy:

THANKS ROCKBLOCKER!!!!!!
Awesome Product!!!!

And the dead shall walk
