How-to: 300 front end on your Magnum!

So, you really want to do this, eh?

This is the first version (06-22-06), I just wanted to get this started with an OEM parts list and pricing, so you know what you're in for.

(06-04-09) Wow, pathetic... 3 years later and I get around to adding more information? Sorry about that. I added info on the underbody shield, brake air ducts, and headlight washer nozzles (to fill those holes!) The headlight washers are confusing. From what I've been told, they require a second pump, additional tubes to feed off the resevoir (obviously), all of which seem to be difficult to track down parts numbers for.

    *IMPORTANT NOTES - PLEASE READ!*
-Be aware that the HID light assemblies will physically fit directly in place of the HALOGEN 300C lights. If you choose to go the HID route, you must buy additional wiring harnesses not listed here.
-You must be sure that you order 300C lights and not 300 Touring lights, as they are shaped differently, requiring a different fascia and, possibly, tie bar.
-Some of these part numbers have a zero in front of them in the OEM catalogue, but it is not required to find it...
-I opted NOT to get the headlight pressure washer units as they were expensive and I had no knowledge as to how they would integrate with the washer fluid system and I didn't think I would ever use them.
-It cost me roughly $2,500.00 in paint and labor (all labor) to put this whole thing together, and I feel I was charged fairly and the workmanship - so far - has proven excellent. I will attempt to sort out what labor is related to my crash and which is related solely to the conversion, but I know that paint/labor was a bit over $1,000 alone.

My total price was just under $5,800 but that included some parts and labor from the crash damage - unrelated to the swap. Keep in mind that there was NO guide for how to do this, so a lot of time was spent trying to get the right parts and trying to figure it all out, so some of that figured into the price. Also, because I was unprepared for this event, I rushed it a little and made an error by not going through Moparstore.com or similar online stores to get the parts. By the time I had figured out the savings involved with going through an online parts place, I had most of the expensive parts already in the shop and the dealer wanted 20% restocking fees if I returned anything...

I honestly believe I could have saved a LOT of money if I A) knew exactly what I needed going in, and B) ordered those OEM parts online. That's why this guide is here - to save the future generations some serious CASH!

Yes thanks for the advice on this. I repsect your courage to do this and document all the hassle you went through so that others can do this a lot easier. I know you were in a rush to get all this stuff but how much do you think you would of saved going with a used front end clip?
Thanks again and beans to you!

P.S. Nick, how much have you recouped from selling your Magnum parts?

It's really hard to tell. If I could have found someone to swap with me, then it would have been only labor less paint... so it may have only cost near $1,000? If I had found a 300C with a wrecked rear, I could have paid half price for the parts...

Um... ZERO? I have a listing of stuff for sale in the Buy/Sell section, but no one seems interested. I figured someone would jump all over the hood to do a shaker or something, but nothin' yet...

We priced out this swap with a salvage front end from one of our suppliers and the cost was crazy, something like 5k just for the parts. Didn't make sense to go that route. Just can't find any deals on salvage in my area.

You posted this about a month too late. I really could have used it when convincing the body shop to do this after my accident and that it was a bolt on job.
