Anyone know what changes there are in 4.04 or 4.05 from the previous versions? Any reasons to (or not to) upgrade from 3.61?

How about - "Do you .lose. any features by getting flashed?"
"Now, I may not be an expert either, but I do lay the keyboard down on occasion, wipe the donut crumbs off my face, put my pants on and go outside into the light... and work on the car." - MattRobertson

I have the 3.61 and asked the dealer if they would flash to the newest software. They are not being very cooperative, like, why would we do that??

Sure would like to know the differences, these guys have sold me 4 new cars now, you think I would have their attention?? NOT!!

They're a tough nut to crack. I just took my car in yesterday and complained about trans shifting and cold start rough idle and I got "could not reproduce" and "there are no updates"

I called them after I got hame and notified them of the TSBs and made sure they knew I was expecting them when I come in after my warranty stuff arrives.

Ok so did I miss something? What's the new version doing for anyone? Should I ask to be flashed or not bother, I'm at 3.60.

I've only half paid attention to this subject, but I have noticed once or twice people saying they've had rough idle fixed with the reflash and other anecdotal success stories. I'm just trying figure out if I should head to the dealer or not and arm myself with info if I do. Thanks in advance.

PCM flashes will fix all kinds of running faults, including rough idle. do you have any specific concerns? just don't expect a PCM flash to update EVIC software version.

Not really, but it's one of those things where I don't know what I may be missing. Since this is the only Magnum RT I've ever driven I'd hate to think that what I consider "normal" operation is really in need of an update. Thanks for the clarification, I guess I'll just take it in and see if they can reflash all the big stuff... if nothing else I can try and get them to recalibrate for my new tire size.

Does anyone's display actually indicate v4.04, v4.05, or v4.06? If so, it is a 2005 or 2006 model year? Do the v4.XX apply also to 2005's?

My dealer is willing to give me an update, but the service manager claims that the v4.05 or 4.06 is the version of the tool used to do the update, not the update itself. He claims that my 2005 Mag has the latest software. The display indicates v3.61.

Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks in advance -- Scott

I got the same thing from my dealer. says the CCN # that shows there is only the display version not the version for the main computer.

I dont know if this is true, just what I was told

    Hi,

My car is a 2006 300C. It has version 4.05 dated 4/12/ 05 according to the display. My car runs fine and does not have any rough idle problems. It DOES however, have the outside air temp problem that has been mentioned in several previous posts.
1coolmagnum, you dealer is giving you a line of bull.

OK, if its bull, give me ammo. I need something concreate to go back with to get it done right. No offence to anyone here but, "..some guys on a web site told me.." just doesn't cut it.

Any of the Dodge techs want to chime in?
