I removed the entire OEM audio system to install all my aftermarket equipment. I wasn't able to use the OEM Sirius antenna for the Alpine Sirius unit I installed. I didn't want a second antenna on my roof so this is what I did:

Remove and disassemble the OEM antenna. You'll have to remove the plastic panels in the rear so you can get under the headliner.


Mark the circuit board with a "W" and "T", white and tan, so you know which wire goes where. Then de-solder the wires and remove the "guts" from the housing.


Use a drill bit to enlarge the hole so your new connecter will fit through. Then use hot glue to attach the aftermarket antenna. Hot glue works well because you can remove it easily later on if you need to.


You can then reinstall it like it is or paint it to match the body like I did if you like.
