Just wanted to add that those with a NON NAV bezel have to be more careful with placing the interface box...the empty space where its shown in the pics is taken up mostly by the extra little cubby. Also you can run the wires into the center box rather than the glove box...a little extra work, but it keeps the iPod closer to you when youre driving, in case you want to disconnect etc.

    Good tutorial btw!

Is the Mopar ipod interface compatible with non-ipod brand MP3 players such as Sansa?

If I remember right, mine has 2 ways to connect. One is the standard iPod and the other is like a head phone jack. I'll look later

Installed mine this weekend, and this guide was spot on, ran into 0 issues during the install.

My unit is doing some weird things after turning off the car and then turning it back on. It'll lose the shuffle setting from On to Off, and it'll go from whatever playlist/genre/artist I had selected before to just repeating songs by that artist. So if I'm listening to a global shuffle, then park the car when a Metallica song is on, when I get back in the car later it'll only play Metallica songs until I fiddle with it. Annoying for short trips, but I think I can live with it!

Was going to go with the aftermarket unit, but I'd rather have the Mopar interface....

I'll just keep my eyes open. Thanks!

I have a 06 Magnum SRT8 w/ nav and sat. I want to do this interface but I have read that you have to disconnect the sat radio or the rear video if so equiped.

If I'm not an idiot, does this mean want ever I disconnect won't work now?

I there an interface that will allow all to work?

    TIA

Not true. I have VES, SAT and Mopar iPod interface all working together.

But good luck finding the iPod interface, they're no longer made.

One thing we forget.... MP3's and our CD decks work fine with them. If you get a conversion program for your iTunes you can burn some nice MP3 CDs.
