After some research I've found the following application numbers that might be helpful.

NGK #2313 = Iridium plug for 5.7L Stock heat range
NGK #2314 = Iridium plug for 6.1L Stock heat range, step colder for 5.7L
NGK #2315 = Iridium plug for 6.1L one step colder, two steps colder for 5.7L

Rule of thumb according to www.sparkplugs.com is go one step colder for every 75-100 HP added, hence why the 6.1L stock plug is one step colder than the 5.7L.

Those of us adding lots of mods might want to step to the better and colder range plugs.

Sparkplugs.com has them for cheaper 6.95 ea vs 9.99 and 10.99 at Advance Auto Parts.com

When I went to sparkplugs.com and looked for my 06 Magnum SXT I got this:

We're sorry, no parts were found for this application

So fnky does anyone make a plug one step colder for the 3.5?

Danny if you copy the part number that fnky put up, into their website it will come up. I did the same thing for my car and nothing came up. I did that and they came up.

With changing plugs at 30,000 mile intervals I think the stock Champions will be fine for me. I got 29,000 on mine now. When I get the 30k service I'm going to make sure they give me the old plugs to inspect. One of the few things left that an old motorhead like me can still look at and get some idea how my engine is running.

Don't pay them to change your plugs. If you have any motorhead left in ya, it is a really easy job and saves you MOD MONEY.

Looks like they have the 300 listed, so you might search for that.

Thanks, Fred...I'm sorely tempted but I have so little spare time anymore and I'm a little light in the "proper tools" department to boot. I just don't think I'd enjoy doing it by myself with nobody to hang out with anymore. And the money is a trade-off, what I pay the dealer I can make back while they have the car. If I do the job myself then I'm not making any money the whole time. Sad isn't it?...

Anyone know why the 5.7 has the plugs being changed a lot more often (lower mileage) than the other models. Is the 5.7 hard on plugs?

3.5L spark plug change is a little more involved than some others you may have changed. i remove the wheelhouse brace which is bolted to the rear of the strut towers. this helps with clearance issues when removing the upper intake manifold. also, i always replace the EGR tube gasket at the valve to prevent vacuum leaks.

2.7L, 3.5L & 6.1L use platinum plugs while 5.7L uses traditional copper plugs.

I see both Bosch and Motorcraft platinum plugs listed on both the Autozone and Advanced Auto Parts websites for the 5.7 R/T. Besides part cost, is there any reason not to switch from the traditional copper plug to a platinum one on the 5.7 hemi to get more plug life?

many have switched to platinum or iridium plugs without issue.

My buddy thinks that the plug replacement is tricky because of the intake cover. Since I'm not a mechanic but in the past could see the ignition cables and plugs relatively easy, I'm wondering how easy it is to change them in the 2.7?

    Thanks for any help!
