Thumbs up What I forgot to mention.......

Sorry guys and gals.... What I forgot to mention is......That "squeally " you may have been hearing is not only generating large amounts of dust, it appears that is is also concealing grooves....I'd check closely if I were you....Hope it helps... John from High Point NC

Yes, the rotor scoring is said to be something that Dodge will fix under a new set of TSB's coming by summer's end.

Ever think the june update (when the new 2007 SRT-s should be comming out?) was for the sloted rotors that the 2007 cars are getting?

    Only time will tell.

As said in many other posts on the subject... directly from Dan Bodene at SRT Engineering who is working directly with the "top guy" at SRT. Here is an excerpt from one of his emails to me:

"There has been a lot of work done on the brake and transmission calibration issues, and it looks like a solution is coming soon (before the official start of summer). I don't have timing any more specific than that -- at least not yet -- but dynamic testing is going on now, and after that, we need to get any new components in the parts pipeline."

I deal with facts, not conjecture or rumors. I have not said anything about what to expect on 07 models. The current TSB is innefective for our troubles. There will be NEW parts (including pads) by summer's end to fix our problems.

I'm glad you were able to find a company to make aftermarket pads, but that still does nothing about already damaged rotors. I'm sure this company likes that you're spreading the word about their product, but please don't do so by misleading others into thinking that theirs is the ONLY way to go.

SRT Chat Sessions have often contradicted comments thay have made in other chats before because you're sometimes dealing with different team members during different chats. Some are drivetrain, some are from other areas. Some deal with only SRT4's, some only with Vipers and so on.

My info has been consistent through ONE person who has been dealing DIRECTLY with the team assigned to this.

    Thank you.

If you had not cross-posted all of this, I wouldn't need to run around after you on so many threads.

In response to another of your posts:

I was fine with you until I read your snippy little post over at the 300 forums regarding me.

"Someone on lxforums was bragging he had insider information on that. Looks like it was just that, BS and rumour mongering."

You now say "there was no mention of brake pads" yet a few posts up you're telling the world that they SAID there would be no pads. Which is it?

Maybe the retailer you're getting your pads from will get you a good discount.

    I'm done with you.

After the information was posted that the 2007 models will feature slotted rotors I posted specific questions regarding the pads and the warranty:

    ----------------------------------

I went through a lot of hassles with dealers per the warranty on Grand Cherokee brakes/rotors a couple years back. Most had no idea what the warranty was, every dealer had a different story. Many owners were forced to pay for in-warranty brakes when they did not have to.
    ----------------------------------

    Their reply:

warranty is 3/36. no brake pad change

Now the warranty booklet specifically states 12/12 for the rotors. I will see if I can try and get a clarification as to which is correct, or if they plan to offer 3/36 for 2005-2006 owners.
