Video of MSRT8 on track behind BMW E46 M3

One of our members posted a vid awhile back at laguna seca or willwood or something relatively famous and he was behind a last gen M3 (E46) for a good amount of time, then eventually the tires gaves out on a corner and he spun himself around, anybody remember that vid and have the link? I want to show a couple friends the mag is not that bad in the twisties, don't think it's a bmw, but it's not the slug they think it is. I've searched, found a vid of a lone magnum on laguna seca with 2 guys in it talking, but not an honest race. Thanks.

I know this isn't the exact video you were looking for, but it shows a Maggie carving up Laguna Seca.

The SRT is pretty respectable on the twisties. Here's a vid, both pretty good drivers. What are your friends driving?

This video is from 2006 SRT TE in a warm up drive at Laguna.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. friends drive bmws, audis, and vws that are bit better suited for corning compared to the LX platforms, but not head and shoulders like they think.

At VIR I was hanging with the M3's and just killing the Audi S4's. Not the RS4, the S4's. The Cayman wasn't that fast either to be honest. Good in the corners, but not pulling away from me. Once we hit the straights, they were toast.

Good point. Just having a German pedigree doesn't make a car invincible. Be wary of the performance models (M, RS, AMG).... for the rest, tell them to find videos to prove THEY can hang with the SRT8s . Have fun.

True .. as I have had a M3 & now have a E46 330I (w/perf & sports pkgs).. but add sways, strut bar, predator tune & CAI to the SRT and you will stay with them as well.. just make sure you have good alignments and good tire pressures and tires as well... I have had/used the GY F1's good and sticky but do not wear that well, replaced mine in 8 K miles, drove on the Michelens (35 series, not my car) & they were not bad either... currently have Nittos Invos & they are great overall 6 K miles on them and they still have great tread & grip

I have not installed the coil over shocks as I cannot (do not want) to get any lower w/o tearing off my front fascia every other month (getting in and out of the driveways around here).. but I have had heard these make a marked improvement..

My next planned upgrades are the Quaife differential to help plant the power down evenly to both sides coming out of the corners..

That said the BMW handles very well but they are know for this... but my boat of SRT Mag is not too shabby either... I get very strange looks when I have brought it to some SCCA events and signed in.. but at the end of the day many are scratching their heads..
