I have the same problem with my transmission but I have not brought it into service yet. It goes away for me once the car is warmed up.

do you ever notice a burning smell when your hammering on it, down shifting a running high speed on the freeway?

Mine is doing the same thing. My old dealer already caused me to run 3 qts low and then overfilled by two quarts, so I'm sure gonna strip off all my goodies and sell is before it's too late.

I just had it serviced so I'm sure they tapped it off. I do notice some burning smell on the highway, I think.

NAh, it's more than this. I have over $1k in payments between this and my wife's 02 Volvo S60 T5 with the 245 hp turbo I5. We'll use that as our family car and I'll get a beater for work until after we buy a house next year. Then it's SRT8 time! There's a method to my madness...hehehe...

Had a burning smell it was a bunch of tranny gaskets. But if you just had is serviced then that would rule out low fluid due to the leak. Ever thought of Lucas tranny additive
