TRANNY-NANNY, this isn't the fix the car needed!

You know what i'll explain my plight and then we can close this headache. Thought I had a problem, got the update when I had other problems fixed. Got the car on a rainy night in Houston. Got in it with the wife and kid, put it in first and brought it up slowly to see if the TSB was installed. It shifted at 6,200 rpm's with light throttle. I was happy at that point. Then my sister came down from Michigan, I wanted to show off my car she's never seen and it was finally nice out. Went into a power slide and it shifted into 2nd. That is the moment I found out that I hate this TSB. It never occur'd to me that this would be a problem.

So I tried all the options of ESP hoping one would give me back my Manual tranny. None did, I'm a good enough shift/driver to where the 1/2 manumatic shift was not a problem. And to tell you the truth if i was racing someone and i missed a gear, it kind of made it feel even more like a Manual car, and I'd have to pull out the same old excuse, I missed a gear lets run again!

I like to do burnouts, NOT POWER BRAKING, there is a difference and it was nice to just hit the limiter and be able to come back into 1st and do it all again! I also like to powerslide, but this cant be done now. So now y'all know the rest of the story.

This TSB is wonderful for people that don't drive like me or have the itch to get wicked. If you don't like the feeling of personally nailing a 1-2 shift and like the consistency of the Automatic Drive characteristics than this is a GOD send. But, I'm not the only person that drives the way I do, heck I had to learn it from someone, and for those people they will want to stay away from this.

OK that I believe is the best explanation i can give I'm going to update this one reply/post, and try not to reply. I'm not looking for any help in the matter anymore, because of the seemingly harsh treatment I've received throughout this post. I was looking for help, and I don't believe that in anyway I made any negative post to anyone, and that I treated people with respect, any irritation I showed was pointed at the TSB and my seemingly inability to properly explain myself. Well I've got to wash the dogs. Y'all take care.

I dont notice all the problems you guys are having it must be the way your driving it???? My car seems to have alot more power shifts firmer and shifts right when it should......I also drive with the ESP on so if it starts to spin it controls itself so i dont notice any early upshifts...When i take the ESP off i also dont have a problem with it shifting into the next gear early....I never used autostick anyways now i dont mind using it because if i go too much it will shift for me at redline I like it......And at the track i think it should work fine....We will see once people start running them....

Wow..if it's that bad, you can always buy an new TCM and install it.
I for one LOVE the flash and I think it adds alot to running the car wide open...hitting the rev limiter and keeping it there is really not a good idea.. it stops the engine, so....what's the upside of doing that?

If you are somehow at REDLINE in 1st gear at 10mph then you have serious issues.

There is absolutely no performance benefit to running your engine to the rev limiter. None.

All this new program does in autostick mode is prevent you from hitting the rev limiter. You would gain no extra performance from hitting the rev limiter... that cuts the throttle out.

    to each his own

Hey Ike, thanks for the comments. You're post is exactly why I've NOT had this done to my car.

If you want to "drive the piss" out of this car you need to be able to hold the gears until you want the next one. Period!

I go around corners fast and sometimes you may hit the limiter during wheelspin, I need to control the trans. Only me.

While others may believe there is no benefit to hitting the limiter I can assure you there is no harm in it either. That's why it's there.

Hmmm, starting to think I am not going to do this. It's sounding like they moved the (In Drive)programm to Autostick and ruined the normal Drive program as well.I think this is going to need to be tested with two cars. One with and one without.See which feels better.

The B&G flash will cure the "farts", I think the noise is caused buy the TQ management in the PCM and is no way connected to the TCM functions

Yes It should, it should boil them well into 3rd. Why ours doesn't do this is due to crappy shifting and piss poor PCM tuning. Thanks Dodge!!

The B&G flash helps with this but no all the way. I would like to get my Stage 2 upgraded to eliminate all TQ management like the stage 3 but retain all ESP function. Unfortunatley I can't get Jeremy to answer my emails regarding this.

I do agree that the new TSB negates the whole purpose of the Autostick. But, I do like the fact that I can just leave it in D when stomping GTO's now. Just personal preference I guess. I always wonder why they didn't offer a 6 spd manual with our cars. As far as the PCM, I'll just wait till one of the tuners steps up to the plate and creates a program for the 6.1 that we can just load ourselves rather then send the PCM out. (Can you hear me Superchips?)

I honestly have no idea what you are talking about. All the TSB that would be considered bad is it will finally shift when you hit the redline. That's it.. I can run it up and hold it to 6k all day and it stays in 1st or whatever...I really don't think any of you who haven't done it yet really understand the difference. Erik, I wish you lived close as I would let you run the piss out of mine and I bet you would be happy~!

I believe that Magnumfreak implied in a recent post that this flash could be reversed.

I think you would need a Starscan that does not have the new TCM flash, then the old flash forced into the TCM.
