    stock Intake Manifold porting help

i just removed the stock air box to take a closer look at the TB then i pushed the butterfly with my finger to look inside the intake manifold WOW the falang from the intake manifold was slightly smaller than the TB falange. you can feel it with your finger it has ruf edges all around and on one spot rite at the bottom there is an extra bump at least 2-3 mm of metal that i can just dremel away...but i wanted to know has anyone noticed this and did anyone try to even both surfeses out...

Yeah. I did notice that. I dont think anyone has done this but it wont hurt anything either. I dont expect to see much of a noticeable change in engine power output..
BE sure to remove the manifold before doing that!
    Take pictures too!

i will take pictures when i do this it is too dam hot to do it now but i will do it for sure ....you dont even have to remove the manifold..

best way to do it is before taking off the TB get a black marker pen and just outline where the manifold sticks out over the TB hole..then remove TB stick couple rags in there and start to grind then vacume shavings and reinstall TB.. thats it

I have no experience with Mopar TB's but LS1, LS6 and LS2 TB's usually get between 5 and 7 hp from this mod. I don't know if the juice is worth the squeeze on this one. Then again every pony counts. This equates to a 1.17% increase in horsepower.

Although the PCM will notice the increased airflow through its Mass airflow calculation it will not know what to do with it.

Are you sure that adaptive learning will not recognize and adjust accordingly. If not how do you explain the effect the larger/better flowing CIA's had at GIFO. I may be wrong but something has to give. I think enlarging the throttle body and or modifing will have some advantages to a motor that has the additional breathing capicity on the back side.
From wild to extra wild we got you covered with crap ya never knew you needed.

if true then how did the guys with ported heads get 40-60HP

this is like a 1-2 hour job you are only cleaning up some imperfections with the factory mass produced manifold..
what you are doing is making it smoother for the air to pass after the TB into the intake ports.

im going to do it next week and just for fun im going to the dyno tomorow and then ill go again after i do this mod...
