I would like to upgrade my RT with the grill inserts from the new SRT8. Anyone have an idea where to get them?

I think we are going to have to wait until the Magnum SRT8 is out, and then go to a Mopar supplier. Either a local dealer or one of the forum vendors (MoparSuperCenter perhaps) should be able to order these (and other SRT8 goodies) once the cars are a reality.
Until then, the only way to get close to that look seems to be to purchase one of the chrome mesh grills and have it powdercoated. A bit more trouble/expensive than I'm willing to do at the moment.
IDSmoker,
Thats pretty much what I thought too, but wanted to get opinions. Think I might try to get a newer Dodge truck grill and see if I can fabricate what I want from that grill. They have a nice eggcrate look to them and have (I think)a big enough area to work with.
Actually, if you are willing to do part of the fabrication yourself, I've been thinking that I saw some sort of black powdercoated mesh at the local Home Depot. I don't remember what department it was in, or even if it was a heavy enough gauge of steel for the purpose, but with the correct dimensions (or even a pattern) and the right tools, I can't imagine it would be that difficult to create your own grill replacement!
No, but while I was putting in my E&G I realized it wasn't just a piece of mesh that fits behind the grill crossbar. There were small cutouts and contours in all the right places to use the factory tabs and neatly fit around the hardware. Making your own grill is doable, first you would definitely have to remove the front fascia for all the measuring, fitting and trial and error. And getting your hands on a E&G or other grill to use as a template would save a lot of time too.

I have new inserts now! I used the ones from the dodge truck and cut them down to fit. The bumper cover has to come off, but no biggey. It worked great and looks cool too!Dave

I like it, this may give a better look.

The second photo looks like, what we refer to in the construction business as "poultry fabric".

I'll try to take some better pics tomorrow.............
If you see a Dodge full size truck, check out the inserts, that is what these are made from. They come in two sections and are about $30 a section. Then you trim to fit just behind the openings and I urethaned mine to the bumper. They fit very nice and seem to be pretty stiff.
