My brakes began sqealing at 5k miles (06)
I was taking my vehicle in to get my pcm reflashed to stop that terrible shift hesitation (btw-Much better now!). Anyways, they said there is a bulletin that all pads from the 06 SRT8 are to be replaced if anyone comes in stating this issue. They replaced them for free giving me new pads (these arnt cheap $600).
Just an FYI!
Props to Keffer Dodge In Charlotte, NC Chris O is the service manager.

"Hey, my brakes are squealing like a symphony of cats in pain, what can you do about it?"
"Front or Rear?"
"Yes."
Then a couple of months later...
"Damn, these discs are scored, WTF is with that?"
"We'll put on the slotted rotors sir...."
Well, OK, that last part was a lie, 'cause they don't ever call me "Sir" unless I'm doing something I'm not supposed to be doing. "Sir. Sir.... SIR! WOULD YOU MIND NOT HITTING THE BALLS OVER THE FENCE SIR!"

It's cool that he replaced the pads without being solicited but the TSB is mainly to cover the rotors and replace them with slotted ones.
Although the new pads supposedly cut down on the brake dust a bit, it's still ridiculous. If the dust drives you nuts, go with a set of C-Teks or Posi-quiet. Dave Zeckhausen stocks them.
Here's the TSB:

Front And/Or Rear Brakes Squeal When Braking
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing the front and/or rear brake pads
MODELS:
2005 - 2006 (LX) 300C SRT8/Charger SRT8/Magnum SRT8
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Front and/or rear brakes squeal when braking, most noticeable with light brake pedal
application.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the vehicle operator describes the Symptom/Condition perform the Repair Procedure.
NOTE: Replacing the brake pads will NOT reduce brake dust or minor rotor
grooving.
I had my rotors replaced after just 900 miles on my car. Scoring on the rotors had already showed up. After they replaced the rotors with the slotted ones they started squealing. I let it go for a while but finally I realized that it just was not going away. The week before the Spring Festival I took it in and they put new pads on all 4 corners. I traveled over 2700 miles to Irvine and back and never heard them squeal once!!!!!!

No problem Dan. I agree the slotted rotors is the best upgrade!
Free set of pads? Put your old ones back in, go complain, get a free new set, then put the aftermarket ones back in.
My updated pads are sitting in a box, just in case... Especially when you consider what Mopar charges for them!
I just had the slotted rotors and pads done on my 06 CSRT8 under the TSB's...
The team at Eastway knows what the LX platform and customer service is all about!!! Highly recommended!
I made the mistake of going to some local dealerships and they did not have a clue... I will not make that mistake again... I had one try to tell me the 300 does not come with a 6.1 Hemi and that an oil change should never cost me more than $40.00... yeah right!
Breaks - Seems that I should not expect to much of an improvement on the brake dust issue? Still early to tell...
What is recommended for little to no dust? Is this possible?
Thanks!

JAAK, what pads do you have? Dust? Where? etc....
Cheers!
That's why I went to Ceramic. Well that and I've been happy with them in the past. If you're not in a rush, you can see what mine look like when I change my wheels in a few weeks. I'll take pictures.
The Ceramic dusts like any pad will, but it doesn't stick as much and it's a lighter colour so what little there is, is not so noticeable.
Too funny I post this, and then see your post asking...
Satisfied Ceramics. I did a thread on them somewhere in here.
