What would it take (Mods that is) to put the SRT8 Magnum or Charger into the
mid 11s 1/4 mile. With the 6.1 425hp it should already be in the very low 13s or high 12s. Thanks for all replys.

From the 60s, first love was a new 1966 Dodge Coronet500 with the 426 street Hemi. I haven't got the word Hemi out of my blood yet, and i'm sure i never will.
Gears.
If someone could crack the PCM I'd be willing to bet that a recode alone would likely do the trick.
The SRT-8 is producing less than 10% more torque than the R/T.
SRT-8 = 425hp and 420 lb-ft
RT = 340 hp and 390 lb-ft
With solid cams (no MDS) and underpiston oil jets running 10.3:1 compression ratio I believe this engine will show some amazing capabilities in running major power.
Everything I have heard WRT the SRT-8 engine in the 300 it sounds like mopar did right in getting air in and out (3.5" headers) of the engine though I'm sure that some improvement in raw performance could be acquired with a cat back system.
So, what will it really take to run sub 12?
My guess is the tranny is the weakest link and once that is strengthened (or you're willing to blow it) you just need to get the computer to access the power that is already there.
Has anyone seen any catback systems for the SRT yet?
