Is the SRT 8 Open???

Hi all,
even i know it is hard to find a spot over there to get the car flying i would like to know if the Beast is open or a Guardener is kicking in at 130mph. So who has the fastest expirience in the Forum

It has a governor (or in your case guardener) :(

hopefully someone will have a reprogrammer....someday :(

I know that a company in Munich, Germany has the possibility to kill the governor from the R/T (gets to a max speed of 280km/H) but the charge 2200USD for it. One Magnum Owner from Switzerland planed to go there. I have to follow up if it was sucsessfull. For my with no Speedlimit it would be pretty boring having just a better acceleration and spend 10k more for it!

I know someone who had their Magnum SRT8 to 143MPH. Amusingly, when it was in the high 130's it kicked down a gear! Anyway, not governed to my knowledge.

SRT-8s speed limiter is supposed to be 165. AFAIK, a few folks have confirmed that here in the States, but nobody has run a top speed run on the autobahn yet.

Actually the SRT-8 speed limiter is set to 172 - 174 MPH. I personally haven't gone that fast in mine, but I know of several people who have, one has over a dozen times.

Car and Driver in their September issue state that it's top speed is 169 'drag limited'.

Proof will be in the pudding, anyone been over 160?

It is not governed. Period. A good friend of mine was on the engine team for the SRT8 and can absolutely verify that they are not governed. And that they should travel at a minimum of 170mph, but more likely 174mph. It has been field verified...
