    Squeaky Brembos

    Hi fellow SRT8-ers!

I am new here but did a search on the forum and couldn't find something specific on reasons for my Brembo brakes squeaking. This happens at fairly slow speeds, but has done this since I picked it up. I figured it would wear off but I now have 5000 kms and time for an oil change, so I plan to bring this up with my dealer. I am sure others have had this....is this normal or for a certain run of SRT8s? They stop great though!
If so, what was the fix....dealer replacing the pads or what?

Other than the odd placement of the Kicker sub woofer (which I have also read the rants on....stupid design and waiting for JL Audio to build a rear compatment enclosure).....I really love this car (I traded up from an RT, and it was WELL WORTH IT for those thining about it!).

    Thanks!!

Brake issues include grooving too. TSB for new pads to fix the squealing. Dealer.

Car and Driver noted the squeaky brake pads. They said it goes away after they warm up.
    I like to pass!!

SRT8 Magnum comes with a Sub? Does it have the same 8 channel 380W amp that is available in the 300's? Wanting more amps and a sub but keeping Stock parts, not aftermarket.

    Glen Thorne...

the problem is very relevant on the SRT series throughout.
On 300Cforums.com you will find a sticky on this issue under the SRT8 room it is so bad...
I have 7,000 miles and have had a squeky pad at all speeds and braking conditions...
if you have the Kicker system...
you can't hear it when the volume is above 18...

Ok so OFFICIALLY is there a TSB out for the pads and rotors? Because mine squeak like you wouldnt believe and my rotors are also grooved. When I took it in about 2 months ago they said that everything was fine and that there were no TSB's or recalls.

EDIT: I just got off the phone with my dealership and the guy told me that there is a "advanced" TSB out and that pads are not available yet, to check back after the 1st of january. He also said that the TSB states that the new pads will not reduced brake dust or rotor grooving and also that the rotors are not included in the TSB because they are not a cosmetic item and as long as they function correctly they will not replace them.
