from the link it looks like some hardware and new ecu and you have a srt-8... They confirmed the 6.1 is a bored out 5.7, with different pistons for higher compression, new heads, headers, hollow sodium filled valve stems (ala gm's LS6 style) upgraded trans, diff, etc...

    On second thought
The high-performance 6.1-liter HEMI is further strengthened with a host of redesigned components, including a reinforced engine block with increased coolant flow, forged steel crankshaft, high-strength powdered-metal connecting rods, floating-pin pistons (cooled by oil squirters), and an oil pan modified for reduced oil foaming.
Lotsa work to do, hopefully the motor mounts are the same anyway.

wow... insane. How in the world do you keep the rear tires FROM flying off the rear axle with that beast under the hood... sounds like an amazing car, i can't wait to see it in real life... hopefully test drive it

    Also:
I can't believe they didn't find a way to put more gas in it. I'd be at the pump daily.

    Speaking of gas:
I cringe at the thought of getting a realistic 16 mpg

    Also, Also:
Looks like there's hope in that lower rear end gear!!

My only complaint is the 19 Gallon gas tank. This will not be a good car for road trip when you need to stop every 250 miles for gas.

Funny, looking at this thread from a year-and-a-half ago and had no idea I'd be in an SRT.

I was bitching about the 16 mpg when I'm currently more than happy to get 14 or so. Not much worse than my RT was actually getting.
