Pull off those SRT engine covers!

I love technology. I love the look of an engine, especially one that puts out... And I love to see it. So there was something that disturbed me about the SRT's engine covers. To me, it makes the engine look smaller, which is not what I want for this beast!

So I pulled the covers and put some of the flexible split tubing over the wiring to tidy it up. I think the covers are going to stay off!!!!

But I'm also curious as to general opinion...

looks nice. the 6.1 looks good with or without the covers. especially with the chrome fuel rails. chrome valve covers would be sweet.and some headers too.

Agreed on the covers DriveATransam, but the problem with using headers as engine dress-up is that you can't see 'em. I was so bummed...

Now the funny part of this, is the majority say leave 'em on, but no one's voiced an opinion!

What I like about this, is I can change my mind at any time and put them back on. Maybe the picture doesn't show it, but the covers make the engine look smaller than it really is. You tend to see them as the heads. And they're not. The heads are really a lot further out!

Yeah, plastic covers make it go faster!

What colour funky? It's no R/T cover so I can't think of a paint job that wouldn't look lame... The R/T cover looks cool painted.

The other thing that happens with the covers off, is that intake manifold looks freakin' massive!

i would leave them on. they only cover the wire loom. i haven't seen any chrome valve covers for the '06 hemi. i have seen them for the '03 to '05 hemis. besides, most of the valve cover is hidden by the large coil packs.
