    Thumbs up Prop rod?

Ok just took delivery of my Mag SRT8.

Getting the mods done and popped the hood and low and behold it opened on its own GAS STRUTS were on from the factory?????

Thought they ended that for '06 - not complaining but now I have an extra set.

I received my Magnum SRT8 on Oct 1 (last week) and it only had a prop rod. Wondering now why I did not get the gas struts (bummer).

I've ordered a set of struts...no big deal I guess.

What I want to knoew is why is there no light in the glovebox?

    Now that seems cheap.

Easy to add, just buy the light/switch and plug it in. It is the same as the one from the 300. The wiring is just tucked up in the wire harness, directly above the glove box.

I think there are pics somewhere, probably in the KB. If you want pics, let me know.

Not terribly happy that gas struts and a lamp have to be added to the glovebox, but the car is good enough otherwise to overlook it. For now.

Funny thing about the struts, or lack of...my 06 SXT did not have them, nor did I expect them, but when I checked for the fittings to see if they were still there on the 06, not only were they there, but you could see worn-off paint where struts were once attached to the ball joints, then removed!

To convert to the gas struts I know I need to purchase the struts but I can't remember if I also need to get the ball mounts. I am currently out of town and plan to run over to a Dodge dealer.

Any advice and part numbers would be appreciated.

I just got my Charger Daytona #77 and also wondering why my friends SRT has gas struts on the hood. How are they attached to the shock tower? Also I work for DCX and we put a glove box light in all our vans, this was a cheap find after we took delivery.

There are ball studs on the inner fender (see part #s above)
From what I heard the ball studs on the hood are already there.
