    Prioritize skeletonizer's mod list.

Now that real tuning is becoming a likely reality I guess I have to put up or shut up in the engine mod arena. I am looking for input on prioritizing my modifications. I am pretty sure you all have an opinion or two about how to upgrade the 6.1 Hemi.

My rules are this: N/A only. Not too much louder than stock in normal street driving. When making suggestions pretend it is your wallet not mine, and remember it is a daily driver, that goes to the strip and autocross occassionally. I want to prioritize the list so that I am not spending money without getting a return, i.e: I don't want the long tube headers before I can prevent the OS codes from being thrown, get it? Pretend that I can only do one mod at a time (although exhaust would all go as one).

    My list so far:

1: A tuner (seems to be a tall order still and nothing else will happen until this appears)
    2: T-stat.
    3: Phenolic spacers.
4: CAI (go ahead, pitch me your favorite)
5: Cat-back (leaning to the Corsa)
    6: Kooks long tubes.
    7: High flow cats (suggestions?)
8: Cam. (probly one of the PPP cams, especially if they are going to have a Predator tune for them.)

Please add, delete, and/or shuffle at will.

For the chasis I am hoping to get the Hotchkis sways for next summer when I will also be in need of tires and possibly brakes.
Too lazy to have a cool sig...

Here's the order I would do it in...
1: T-stat. The easiest and cheapest mod to do.

2: CAI (go ahead, pitch me your favorite) Another easy mod to do yourself. Airhammer has the best proven performance on the dyno. I ordered one, but don't have it yet.

3: Cat-back (leaning to the Corsa) Should do this together or around the same time with CAI, doesn't really matter which one you do first, I did exhaust first.

4: A tuner (seems to be a tall order still) The Diablo supposedly has tunes for the mod list up to this point without having to do a custom tune like you should do when you have high flow cats and headers.

5: Kooks long tubes. Do this one and the high flow cats together for convience, annd maybe the cam too if you can affford it at the time.

6: High flow cats (suggestions?) Magnaflow

7: Cam. (probly one of the PPP cams, especially if they are going to have a Predator tune for them.) If you do a cam it would make sense to do heads with it.

8: Phenolic spacers. I'm not so sure about this one as I have heard mixed reviews about this mod, sometimes causing oil leaks etc.

    There you have it...

    1) Diablo Tuner

    2) 180 t stat

    3) 2800 stall Torque converter

    4) Magnaflow High flow cats

Best bang for the buck mods. CAI and Cat back don't do much besides sound good.

    Good luck!

High flow cats should come with what ever headers you decide to get. It comes with the Mopar and the Dynatech ones, I don't know why it wouldn't come with the Kooks.

Last time I checked their site they did not offer cats. I will look into it.

Well, if it does come with high flow cats, thats one less mod you have to pay for.

Did you do your exhaust yourself? Did the Dynatechs match up to the Corsa without a hitch? Clamped or welded?

I don't have them yet. I'm waiting on the tuner to be released so I can get it tuned. I've been told by numerous people that they will match up without a problem.(One of them had it installed on their car) I was also informed that Kooks were tested and tuned with a Corsa catback, so it might be a better choice.

I'm still getting the Dynatech ones, I've heard them on a car, and they sound awesome with the Corsa catback.

I heard the the Dynatech's do not throw codes and that the new Kooks dont either.

    Still waiting for the tuners.

I think a head and cam package will be the ticket. I will do headers if I have the coin but from what I am reading the stock SRT exhaust is tough to beat.

    Probly go with Indy.

Yeah, I am planning to do head and cam package too. I have not decided which package yet. LT's will go on in September, just need to find time to do it.

Kooks LT's come with high flow cats or you can opt for the "off road use only" non catted pipe. And they will bolt up to the corsa or basically any other cat back no problem.
Mods: Arrington 426 8.8:1 comp., Power Ported Performance stage 2 heads, PPP blower cam, Paxton Novi 1500 blower, Custom frontmount intercooler(garrett core, 3in piping), Fore fuel hat, FPR, fuel rails, Earls -8 fittings and lines, Setrab oil cooler, Kooks headers, Magnaflow exhaust, phenolic manifold spacers, 180 t-stat, 22" Iforged aeros/yokohama advans, KW variant 2 coilovers, Hotchkis swaybars, Brembo cross drilled rotors, Stop-tech braided lines, Centric pads, Motul RBF600 fluid, Pro torque 2800 converter,DSS stage 5 halfshafts, Quaife lsd, 10 point roll cage.
