I have been getting the ABS double chime..in the chime warning system...but it then went away..(scrugs)...but just got back from visiting Brent at DTP..and he did a check on my tune..(3 yrs old..and not even a hic-up)...took car in for inspection..found out I need rear pads...NOT front..but rear....?????...I told my tech about the ABS chime I had for 2 months, he did a check, first with the starscan...nothing in memory..nothing in the ABS Module, he then hooked up the starmobile..and off we went.....nothing.....readings were normal..(he loves the tune in it)..but says that the rears shouldn't wear out, I still have 60% left on the front....He asked me to post it here and see if anyone else has seen this....what you guys think...somethin' ain't right....![]()

Do any burn outs lately?
Are YOU still on the stock (non vented rotors)? On my 06 Mag SRT I had the first set of pads replaced at 7,000 miles and at 8,000 miles they were squealing like a school bus. Finally after many arguements with the dealer they finally replaced all of mine to 2010 style slotted rotors and all new pads again. I have had NO problems since that time; currently at 11,300 miles.
Old Geezers LOVE cars too!

Do you live in a wet climate? I had to replace my rear pads at 17k because the Traction and Stability control systems actuate the brakes to modulate torque when there is wheel slippage, which wears the brakes prematurely. It rains all the time in the Seattle area so I'm always sliding around. After I changed them I started turning off stage one of the traction control most of the time (it still jumps in if you get unexpectedly sideways unless you're stomping on it). That solved my rear-brake wear problem. My guess is you have the same thing going on.
It might have to do with ESP. Hal applies the rear brakes for stability and traction. At least that's what I was told.
