Nitrous; input needed to finish purchasing everything for my install.

I'm putting together an Nitrous Express N2o install and I think I have everything I need but the following which I was hoping to get some input on before I purchase.

    1. Cooler plugs, are NKG 3406 the ones of choice? if so, where is a good place to get them?

    2. I don't want to tap directly into my fuel rail, what is a good, safe, affordable and effective alternative? I believe Zex makes a part that I could order but I've heard mixed reviews on its quality and safety (concerns of it popping off)

    3. A/F wide band kit. I don’t want to spend the money on this as I’m waiting and hoping to get a dash hawk with the upcoming hawk eye adapter allowing it to accept a wideband sensor and just have one gauge in my car but I don’t know how else I can tune it with out spending $$ on dyno tuning. I plan on getting the car on a dyno but I’m assuming that tuning for N2O will make the dyno trip MUCH more expensive and if I’m going to spend money on that I might as well buy a wide band o2 sensor (something I can keep) instead. Plus I will be getting a Diablo handheld and I know some of the vendors will be putting together N20 tunes for purchase as soon as possible.

So. What are all your opinions on what to buy and where to buy it??
    Thanks,
    Fionn

Here you go on the wideband, inexpensive gets the trick done and allows you to monitor a gauge if your not scanning, it's nice to see your AF at WOT if your not even scanning.

As far as tapping for fuel, does the 6.1 rail have a schaeder valve? If so I would tap onto that threaded piece and just thread out the pressure test fitting in the middle, it's like a valve stem on a tire.

Yea, I was actually looking at those, most of the accessories I bought are Dyno Tune all though I bought them from 402motoring a supporting vendor. They were MUCH cooler than the people over at Dynotunenitrous.com plus I always choose to support our community and you get a credit towards your next purchase at 402 with every order. I probably should have just ordered one of those, maybe the round one but I just done like the look of there gauges that much. however, like you said, they are priced right.
    thanks for your input!

You can probably get the plugs from any auto parts store that carries NGK plugs. We are paying 1.99 for the 4306's here in TX at O'Reilly's.

As for the fuel adaptor..... do a quick search here for Miller Special Tool. It is what you want/need. It goes inline between your existing fuel rail and the fuel line. It can be removed in under a minute if necessary.... no cutting required. You can get the adaptor from your local Snap-On or Matco tool guy. Around 75 bucks or so.

Since no picture I don't know if it is the same one. But if it is and they can hook you up that is an absolute killer price. Dealer wanted $100. I trust the guy that sold me mine. He is a Matco guy so maybe therein lies the price difference.

I am a plug reader..... so I buy the cheap ones and swap them out frequently. They worked fine for me! Others may want you to spend the cash....... I like to keep it simple!

The 4306 is the stock heat range plug. You are looking for one step colder right? According to the tech @ NGK the only proper length plug they have that is one step colder for our cars is an Iridium plug 2315.

If you guys have any info on a colder non Iridium plug I am all ears! Believe me I don't like paying 7.32 a plug!

Did you just run them at their stock gap, I don't think I want to risk breaking them trying to change the gap, they say don't adjust right? I believe they come at .44 and for n2o you should be around 35 correct?

Also, if I run a 75 shot would I even need cooler plugs?

I also want to add a few more questions for you or anyone else:
    1. Can I run 91 octane fuel with 75 or 100 shot or do I need 93+?
    2. If I tune AF ratios with 91 should I stick with 91 during all my runs or can a use a bit of race gas to decrease detonation without risking changing AF ratios too drastically?
    3. Also, I’m concerned about oxygenated vs. non oxygenated fuel, guy at a local shop I talked to this AM said be careful not to run oxygenated fuel if you don’t tune with it and use it all the time with n20 because it will cause you to run too lean.
    4. should I get an AF gauge that logs the runs so you can go back and look over it after and make adjustment via the Diablo when it comes out? If so, what gauges do this?

I’m leaning towards ditching the Dyno time, $200+ for 3 runs at the local shop seems a bit pricey, I can almost buy a wide band and gauge for that. Also, when I get my Predator tuner couldn’t I adjust on the spot for different fuel octane’s and the like or better yet would the modified Diablo tune be able to keep AF ratios at the programmed level regardless of octane fuel? If I ran the 89 octane tune with 91+octane fuel while on the bottle it would automatically have less timing and it should have about a 12.1 to 1 AF ratio programmed into that tune and as long as I use the proper jets to keep it in that ballpark the ECU should make some minor on the fly adjustments to keep it around there as well right? Is 12.1 to 1 even the correct ballpark while running n2o or should I go a bit richer?

Thanks in advance to anyone who tackles these questions, I know I am very long winded; I am just having trouble condensing all my thousands of thoughts and questions! J

As far as the dyno. $200 is way high(doing drugs). Is there only one place in Reno with a dyno machine? We pay $65 for three pulls with A/F.
