Made My First 1/4 Mile Run

I have an 08 MSRT8 and just got past my 500 mile brake in period and couldn't resist. I don't know about the 06 or 07 but the 08 has a performance read out in the DIC and according to it I ran a 13.84 at 108.1. Now the road was wet so I had to baby it out of the hole and I will have to figure the best launch technique for the car but considering the conditions I didn't think that was too bad. With the right conditions I hope I can get it to the do much better but how does that sound considering.

For babying it, depending on how much you did, that wasnt too bad. the mile an hour seems a little high, though, but maybe not. My best time for my Sublime Daytona R/T was 13.68, which I am happy so far with.

You should be easily capable of achieving a 13.2-13.3 if launched correctly in dry conditions.

These cars get faster after 2000+ miles and keep getting faster all the way up and beyond 10,000 miles. Dry conditions you could hit 12s. Those mags hook up hard. Get a predator, dial it in on a dyno and you'll pick up 20-40hp (I picked up 40 hp/tq). You'll easily be in the 12s then.

Let it hit about 2000-3000 miles and it'll really find its groove.

Drive it like you stole it so that HAL doesn't pull timing on ya, then when you hit about 2k miles... go with a Predator tuner and hit the track again.

You should be in the 12's on a solid track.

uh huh.. I agree with all of the above... 12's or very low 13's are possible in stock form... but let it get some more miles on it and be careful when it is wet outside.

Thanks I was curious how mine stacked up. What do you mean when you say HAL dosen't pull timing? I assume the computer gets in a certian mode. Can you reset this or just change driving habit and it will update?

With a little launching practice you can easily be low 13's high 12's. I did a 13.11 stock, and a 12.93 with a airhammer.

Looks like you just need to work on the launch.

"Adaptive learning" the car learns how you drive.

Drive it lightly, and it will retune to conserve gas.

Drive it hard all the time, it keeps up a performance oriented tune.

Anytime it changes in a way you don't like, pull fuse 11 for 15 seconds and drive it hard again... that resets the adaptives.

That top speed tells it all in the HP output. Very good trap speed. You should easily see 13.0 My 06 got beat by a 08 at Memphis "Mopars at the Track" last july.

I think I read that the '08 fuse box is a little different and you cannot do the fuse 11 trick. There is another way, I'm sure someone here knows...think I read it on the 300 forum.

Good luck with the Maggie, these cars are definitely capable of 12s...see below

Hoping to do a dyno tune and work that time down even more this year

The mph was spot-on. But I wouldn't go around quoting 1/4 mile times from the car unless you have a timeslip from a dragstrip. It's a nice tool and reference, but not official.

The 08 MSRT8 that beat mine was driven by one of the SRT engineers and his launch was way better than me and I could not quite catch him.
