    Installed Borla on SRT8 Today

Ok, I know we have beat this subject to death, but here goes. After much thought, conversations and posts, I decided to go with the Borla. A question was asked on how it would sound on the SRT8, as it is a different system than the 5.7. Well I must say I absolutely LOVE IT. It's got a great sound, and NO (ZERO) cab drone. It may be a bit tame for those who like aggressive systems, but this is just what i was looking for....tame at cruising and idle and kick ass at WOT. BTW, thanks to Jason at HHP for some really good advice and great customer service.

Sweet, you should try to get a sound clip of it on here. I would really love to hear what she sounds like.

I'm little illiterate when it comes to loading sound clips but I'll give it a try.

Borla is the cat's arse! Have Borla's on my RT and Hemi Ram and they are awesome. If you never heard the truck set up, it's freaking sweet. Wife friendly till about half throttle, then it sounds like the space shuttle on takeoff. LOUD as HELL. Often when I go to pass somone in my truck, they will pull over, scares $hit outof them.

Any idea on the diameter of the piping? My friend has the same system and it looked smaller than the stock piping

    Piping Size

You are correct in that the piping on the Borla is 2.5" rather than the stock 2.75". I was concerned about that also, and I did some research before I purcahsed the system. If you go to Borla's website, they explain why they reduce the size. In a nutshell, the common myth that bigger pipes are better is not always true. For street use, Borla says that exahust velocity, not size is more important. By downsizing the piping a little, the gasses are moving faster creating more energy and better scavanging. How many of you have had the experience of putting on bigger piping then feeling a noticable seat-of-the-pants torque reduction? I have. Also, as you enlarge the piping, more low frequency pulses are created. Low frequency pulses are what you hear in the way of drone. This is not to say that bigger piping is never the answer. But for street use, it makes sense. After having the system for a few days, I can say that there is no loss of low end power at all, and it feels even stronger in the upper ranges. Believe me I'm not doing a Borla commercial all I can do is pass on the info and relate my own personal experiences. Anyone else that has this system feel free to chime in.

I'm not familiar with that exhaust but after running the Borla I can say that the 2.5" has had no negative effect in the low range and is very strong on top. I'd like to see some dyno numbers but I'm going on seat-of-the-pants. I was skeptical too, but for me it it was worth it.
