Just some other things to consider in your purchase plans. I did the upgreade and have never looked back
    Neither happened to me.

The rotors are 80 bucks and pads cost less than one of my trucks. The cheapest and easiest to service Hi-Po brakes you've ever owned!

And I still can't believe the insurance on this car, It is unreal CHEEP!

Compared to Vettes and other hipo cars this may be the cheapest I've ever owned in terms of maintenance.

I had a Nissan Murano that was about 2.5 years old. Got it right when it came out and really liked it. I drove the R/T and it was nice, I really liked it. I drove the SRT a number of weeks later, and I was done, no turning back unless they didn't want to deal. I gulped as I phoned the insurance company, going from a 250 HP V6 SUV that the girls like, to a 425 HP fire breathing V8 monster... that was brand new.

My insurance went down. I asked again. Yes, down...

Those days of driving an SRT and thinking, "Man I need one of these" are long gone boys! Just look around.

I traded my RT in on an SRT, and have no regrets. The RT is cool, but the SRT is a completely different experience.

My insurance went up a little, but that seemed to be more due to the cost of the car than anything else.

In my usual driving, the mileage difference between the RT and SRT is 1-2 mpg.

Bottom line is the car puts a big grin on my face whether I'm driving it or just looking at it!

    Good luck with your decision.

Keeping in mind the current state of the economy I have begun low balling the dealer. I may have to go by the dealership once or twice but I believe that I can pull quite a few dollars out of them before make my purchase. I think it's only right given the current state of depreciation on our vehicles and all.

I was debating keeping the 5.7L in my project and spending the money it would cost me to convert to a 6.1 - into the 5.7 to make even more power. umm, yea.

I wholesale cars, I picked up a 06 SRT8 Jeep w/ an exhaust, CAI & a diablo. Like you guys say - the WHOLE experience is different. Since then I have bought a SRT8 interior for my car, SRT8 brakes for my car and tomorrow morning my check goes out to CA for my 2008 Challenger 6.1L for my car. The SRT8 seats are AMAZING!!!!!!! I liked the SRT8 experience so much I now have the front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts, 6.1L SRT8 motor, SRT8 interior, SRT8 brakes - not sure I have 1 bit of R/T left in my car!

    GO SRT8!!!!!!!!

SRT. Like the other guy said one drive and youll buy! I didnt want one. In fact I thought the charger was a disgrace to the older models. I hated them. Then I drove an srt8 charger. Well here I am. I love this damn thing!

As another R/T to SRT convert I can only agree with evryone else. I test drove one and for the next two months no matter what I did I couldn't get it out of my head that I just had to have an SRT.

So I now have a SRT in the garage.

Congrats on the new purchase. Which SRT8 did you get?
