HHP stage 1 or SRT Max cam

Little help please, which one is a good fit for a slightly more than stock srt. Catbacks/CAI/180term/SLPpulley/tune=409rwhp.
I had to delay the KB until 2013, next is SLP headers and mids w/the cam and ported heads.

well I cant really say, I have heard a ton of good stuff for the SRT cam, but I also heard that it is best run with a TQ Converter. I have a HHP Stage 1 sitting in my basement waiting for me to put in next weekend along with my SLP 25% Pulley. What kind of heads do you have?

well both will work from what im told. The SRT is pushing it close to the limits if i understand correctly, i may be wrong but it should work with all stock internals just as the HHP. If I get the HHP installed before you get yours I will let you know how it runs.

Personally, I would run a bigger cam like the HHP stage 2 or something else. The HHP stage 1 cam is pretty mild and will leave you wanting more, especially if you add more mods later like heads, blower, etc. I ran the HHP stage 1 for about a year and then removed it once I got heads, ported intake, LT's, etc. Basically what I'm trying to say here is....you don't want to be doing things over and over like I did as it really adds up money wise. The HHP stage 2 will require upgraded valve springs, but it'll pay off in the end as you won't have to spend money for a bigger cam later on down the line.

Makes sense, but it's all a matter of getting all the parts together at once, will it work well with just the LT, ported heads, springs and coils.

Do the HHPstage 2or stage3 , the stage 2 will work well with stock heads and love you even more if you have ported heads , longtubes and a ported intake manifold

I use Brent for all my tuning, me and he talk atleast 2-3 times a week lol, just had him tune a PWR heads/cam set up (the car sounds and runs like a beast)

If it wasn't so far I would have them do my set up great guys, but I hear HHP here in Charleston SC are very good. You should vid the beast to hear it.

I had a srtmax installed last year and love it. My baseline numbers were 382 rwhp 386 rwtq, mods were Afe cai and canned 91 octane tune. After cam numbers were 422 rwhp 416 rwtq, same dyno same day as baseline run. Car ran great on the stock converter, plenty of power down low. I then added a set of ported heads and manifold which bumped me up to 460rwhp and 436rwtq. All of this was through a 100% stock exhaust. I know these are just dyno #s not track times, but I love the way my car drives, pulls strong with no issues. I have been really happy with Inertia and recommend them, but I dont think you can go wrong with either vendor. Good luck with your build.
