Help! Putting hitch on an SRT, now!

Has anyone installed a hitch on an MSRT? Trying to now, but there are no specific instructions that match. Seems the hitch binds while trying to fit between the rear valence and the floor pan. The charger instructions call for removing the rear bumper cover. Looks like that is what needs to be done. Was easier on the RT, no problem. Any help is appreciated.

Nevermind, got it to fit . For future reference, the Magnum hitch(mopar) will fit the MSRT. Just have a lot less room to work, the rear mufflers don't drop down as much as the RT. Definitely need a universal and a wobble extension. Also, must remove the 4 lower plastic pins from the rear valence to give enough room. Just try not to get the help of a teenager,("Do you still need me? Do you still need me? Do you.....)lol

I didn't have to take the pins out of mine to put it in... It fit fine!

You probably are a whole lot more experienced than me. Seemed too tight on the test fit and didn't want to crack the rear valence. Taking out the pins(10 second job) just gave that little extra wiggle room. Hell, you know at my age, I'm not used to things that are "real tight"!

    Hi,
New to the forums and I have a Magnum SRT-8 and am considering a hitch. Main reason would be hitch mounted bike rack. Does anyone have pics of the hitch (does it stick out when not in use...is it well hidden?). Any idea how much weight it adds to the car? Also, will a Thule/Yakima hitch rack just fit right in, or are adapters needed? Thanks for any help!

The receiver is totally hidden when not in use. It uses a goofy right-angle kind of tongue though... not sure if the other manufacturers have solutions that work with it.

On my Magnum R\T it went much smoother when I removed the rear resonators, it just slid right in with zero effort. So if you want better sound and an easier instal, cut 'em off.

There's two different tongues.. If you get the flat one that takes the ball, it will rub the fascia. So get the square receiver one instead and then adapt to your rack as needed.
