First passes at the track - CSRT8 vs LS2 GTO

    2007 Charger SRT-8 vs. 2006 GTO M6 -- both bone stock

Didn't get a good chance to REALLY see what she'd do, because in the 4 hours we were at the track, we were only able to get TWO passes. Oh and we never went back to the pits either. Welcome to Houston Parkway Park.

Cars are both bone stock, no changes from off the street. No burnouts, just drove around the water box and straight to the line. Both cars have less than 3000 miles on 'em. GTO weighed in at 3920 w/ 190lb. driver I think, and I weighed in at 4380 with me in it (I'm 180). There was only a gallon or two of gas in the tank (low fuel light lit the whole time). GTO was below 1/4 tank.

    http://video.ls1tech.com/video/6cccf...cc0003b15a.htm

First pass - Stalled to 1500, rolled into the throttle:

Second pass - Slept at the light because I was looking down at the camera Rolled the throttle from idle:

We'll be going back to line 'em up some more, because both cars obviously have a bit left in 'em. We should have been neck and neck, but the GTO was wheel hopping like crazy. We wanted to get enough passes in to really learn the cars, and swap drivers to take that out of the equation and see how the two cars TRULY compare. This is the first time both cars were ever at the track.

Try John's track in Sealy, Tx on the other side of Houston, a lot less time wasted waiting to run.

What seems to be the avg. ET for new/tight SRT's? Do they loosen up and get quicker?

If anyone's heading out to Sealy any time soon, let me know. Its a lot closer to me than HRP (25 vs 55 miles) but most of my friends run at HRP.

What kinda 60' times are typical on the factory 20's? Man, a lightweight set of wheels/tires would definitely wake things up

Replacing the rear swaybar and changing the bushings usually helps with the wheelhop those cars have. It can get pretty bad during the 1st to 2nd shift.
