I think they are out of business, actually. BMC Performance reported that they bought up the last of their strut bar inventory.

DON'T send it back. Put it up for sale. Lots of people want these and there is now a very limited supply. I would kill for a rear strut bar, and there used to be one made, but I stood around and didn't get one while I had the chance.

In the not so distant future -- or right now -- you'll have no trouble selling the thing.

It's new, I'm hoping to send it back and get what I paid for it...
And Matt is correct, I got it through BMC, not DC Sports...
I hope they are good about returns, as I said.
I can't see anyone wanting to pay $189.00 for this when they can go directly to BMC and get it.
If I get stuck with it, then I'll consider some price reduction on it...
It certainly will not fit my car, if they require pictures I'd be happy to provide them!

Wow....can't believe that they went out of business. I'd bet that you could sell it waiting on it for a couple weeks for more than originally purchased for. Once more people realize these aren't on the market anymore...there will be a bit of a rush.

Can you post up a pic of the bar on the car..I would like to see why it isnt fitting. There shoudn't be any reason that it wont work on your 08 unless there was an issue with the bar.

Yes, please post a pic or email me at bmcperformance@gmail.com (in case I don't see the thread) and we'll help you out.

BTW, the deal with DCS is ... AEM sold the DC Sports division to Pilot Automotive.

I was interested in one of these more my MSRT. If you figure out what the fitment problem is, please let us know. I'd hate to buy one if it won't fit as well.
Is your fitment problem with hood clearance or something else?
    Take care,
    Christopher

I'll pull the nuts off of both towers tomorrow and lay it back on there for pictures.
That part was not so much an issue for me, as the air ducting was.
The turn downs on the ducts on this are almost flush with the main assembly from the factory. (You'll have to see pics)
I would literally have to remove them for it to work, or cut up into the main assembly.
I'll get good pics of that also so you can see what I mean.
The bar is constructed beautifuly, the quality is top notch.
We can come to a decision once the pics are up.

    On another subject, your CAI's.
I saw your post's on your thoughts SRT8U.
I wanted to ask, why hasn't the Airaid with the cold air ducting arm on it done very well?
We all know the cooler the better.
    Thanks for your fast replys...

In order for the bar to work on the SRT8 Charger, you will need to trim the vents or remove the hood liner. The DC instructions don't show this but our install instructions and website show this. The other LX's dont have this issue because they don't have the hood scoop. I have run the brace on my car for almost a year with the vents trimmed and no issues. It is a tight fit but it does work. Every car is a little different and some may require more trimming than others. I am curious why it isnt fitting on the threads though.
Here are some pics of the trimmed scoops:

As far as the Airaid w/ Scoop goes I did run one for a while and I did like it. However it will not work when used in conjunction w the Strut Tower Brace. The brace crosses over where the Scoop sits. I have since switched to the AFe Stage 2 and love the intake!

My car doesn't even have a liner, and the drop down part looks to be very similar to yours.
I'm not sure if the body of it is thicker or what, but if I were to trim the drops and close the hood it would no doubt be smashing it all up into the hood.
I could probably live with that if it came with a liner, but in no time at all smashed up against the hood deformed plastic would be noticeable without the liner.
Not only did I not get a liner, the OEM strut caps are non-existant also.
Here is my ducting as is:

The AFEII is a very nice looking unit!
I am going to look into it and an idea I currently have from the GTO forum.

Wow, I had not seen an 08 SRT8 under the hood yet, so I had no idea they deleted the liner! How odd! I know some people have removed the liners on their 06-07's and also deleted the plastic scoop too which causes the air to flow directly over the intake. Obviously this solved any ribbing issue, and the others have left the liner and trimmed the scoops. I knew they deleted the plastic covers but had no idea they deleted the liner!

The only thing is with the bar pressing against the body of the vents I'm just worried as to how much it may affect the looks of it without a liner.
I can see on your scoops where they have somewhat presssed upward, which is completely acceptable because the liner keeps it from showing.
But without a liner it may look much more pronounced.
As for the bolts, I can't see the angle of the towers being changed.
I'll definitely get you some good pictures ok...

    Pictures as promised

OK, here are the pictures as I promised you.

This is how the bar sits when placed on the studs.
Like I said, I wouldn't think this angle changed for 2008, but...

I am more concerned with how it will be pressing against the plastic, in time causing it to deform, and with no liner, in time, I don't think that the plastic would be very presentable.
The pics with the hood pulled down are with it open about 4" and 3-1/2", so triming the scoops would definitely yield more room, but not enough to keep from hitting the bar and causing it to change shape from countless hot to cold cycles.
