Custom SRT8 Tuning COMING from SCT....

By request, a new thread concerning the upcoming CMR tuning software by SCT...They have stated Vipers/SRT10's first, SRT4's next (whatever), and then the SRT8's.

    This is from the OC:

That will come by the end of the month. SCT just released the DCX custom tuning hardware and software. We are kicking this off by recalibrating a handful of vipers and viper trucks. the SRT8 community will follow.

    and more.....

It will be. Out of the gate I will have SCT's dodge custom tuning software. Not predators with canned tunes from diablo.

This will kick off with 3 vipers and 2 viper trucks next week.

You cannot go by the end user adjustable parameters alone. Thats only a tiny fraction of what we can alter in the calibration as dealers. Obviously we limit what the customers can do so you don't blow up the vehicle.

Truly in the end the flasher itself is just a pass thru device to reflash the vehicle. The competency of the person building the files loaded onto the flasher is the part that counts.

Ok, so one member told me on the other thread that SCT is an VERY reputable custom tuning operation. I myself, have already ordered and paid for my Diablo Predator and I think I'm going to be happy with it. But competition is always good right? What do you think?

I am confused, is SCT using the CMR software? Or some other software (their own possibly?).

The CMR software is from Diablo, hence my confusion from the first line of the first post. The CMR software will have full access tuning for the Diablo dealers. So I am not sure what the SCT advantage is if they are using the CMR?

Hasn't SCT been talking about this for 2 years? Since SEMA last year at least, my money is on Diablo. They're putting their money where their mouth is right now.

Diablo had been at it too, and both companies are finally getting there. Diablo is ahead yes, but SCT isn't far behind.

I know some people who work at SCT. It becomes preference but I've always been a SCT fan so I'm passing on the Diablo for now. Besides, I don't know any Diablo tuners in my area. I'm sure there are good ones, I have just never experienced their tunes.

The local Dodge dealership's parts guy clued me in on the SCT tuner, and he didn't know much about Diablo but he had lots of good things to say about SCT.

I'm in the wait and see group, I'll wait and see how these tuners work out for folks once they hit the street, then figure out what I'll buy.

Did we verify if those times for the Jeep, which are kinda presented as if they were achived with the tuner, actually were? Or were those the runs Torrie did with nitrous and no tuning?

SCT and Superchips are two different companies. I also pre-ordered a Diablo but am also a former SCT owner. They are top notch, although pricey (about $100 more than other tuners.) Guys on the diesel forums swear by them. I have never owned a Diablo but I did own a Superchips and I sold it for the SCT, as it was a much better tuner. I've heard good things about Diablo and I'm sure I'll be happy with it. The only thing that SCT might have over Diablo is there are more custom tuners out there for the SCT. I had 3 different people sending me tunes for mine.

I'm pretty sure those were N20 runs and ya, it does look as if they were linked to a tune....at least on the website.

SCT FTW...this is what we are waiting for. they have been working on this for a while and when it comes out it will kick ass!
BMC Performance is a SCT Direct Dealer...look for exciting things to come!

Diablo is great but we have been waiting on the SCT since they first started working on this months ago...if given the choice I would go SCT any day
The Livewire tuner/Real time data logger is an awesome tool. We had a livewire at the Shindig and showed a few people how it worked..it is truly an awesome tool.

This is what I am running into none of the shops I call around here do Diablo and I will need a custom dyno tune for my car. If SCT isn't far behind they probably won't even mess with Diablo. The only thing is if SCT was close I think they would be putting the word out a little more especially posting on our forum

Sounds great but i'll believe it when i see it.

Any company can say "we'll get to the SRT-8's" but that doesn't say much.
