    Borla Exhaust

I dont have the money to go buy the cat back exhaust right now, what are my alternatives? Buying 2 Borla Mufflers and just having the local muffler shop weld em in? Whats the advantages and or dis advantages? If I just change the mufflers which ones do I need I searched and saw 112's seem to be the quiter ones which is probably what I want since i would still like to use my Uconnect once in a while...

I had a local muffler shop weld in two magnaflow mufflers in place of the resonators and remove the suitcase muffler. It saved me a lot of money up front. The cost was around $300. I got the same performance was I would from a cat-back. However, I believe the fit and finish it better from a full cat-back. This is just my opinion. If I had it to do over, I would have them put the mufflers in place of the suitcase and removed the resonators out back.

I think the suitcase is most important. It is a equalizer and expansion chamber and without it power will be lost. Just remove resonators and replace with a pipe and it will sound great.
Try it and see. cheap way to go and you can always change it. (if you should want to)

it really works I did mine that way first for almost two yrs and my RT before that. Just went to Zoomers for the 3" system

I live in Simi Valley, and had my suitcase deleted at a muffler shop on Sepulvada in the SF valley. I dyno'd my car at the shop next door before and it made 380 rwhp. Had the suitcase deleted. 30 minutes later back on the same dyno and made 360 rwhp. We tried about 10-15 runs with me driving the car around the block, pulling fuse 11, disconnecting the battery, etc. Couldn't top 360 rwhp. My car also ran about .2-.3 tenths slower at the track than other SRT8s. So I'm positive the suitcase delete is bad.

I now have a corsa on. The suitcase delete exhaust is sitting in my backyard. If you want to drive out here its yours free. It did sound nice though. Better than these corsas.

Going with Zoomers, they install behind the X pipe and have their own expansion chambers. In that case for a Zoomers catback, the suit case comes out and you should be ok.

It might sound to your liking, but it will cost you HP
Try leaving the suitcase and removing the cans. The sound is good and the balance and expansion chamber gives an increase in HP. The cost is minimal due to only replacing the cans with pipe.

The "cans" are the rear muffler(resonators) at the tips. They are where the "quiet" comes from.
