6.1 head and MP single plane manifold?

Can anyone share, if anyone has flowed a 6.1 head with the MP single plane manifold attached. Flow numbers of with and without would be nice. I have my 6.1 at 318 and would like to stay at or above 300 with the manifold. I should mention that are bench is tight. 5.7 head went 277 not the 286 that was on allpar and my 6.1 went 303 not the 318 that again was posted on allpar.

the mopar single plane intake has the 5.7 intake window on it that is significantly smaller than the 6.1 intake. You would loose torque due to the length and might gain a little on the top end. I would advise against it until you are able to extend rev limits beyond 6300.

Don't worry, we are going well beyond 6300. Sorry to hear it has the 5.7 port. I know that someone is coming with a manifold, just can't remember who. If your out there, how's it coming?

i think i remember you saying this was for a drag car right? it should be able to be opened up, i just dunno having never seen one. the "kit" you have to buy to get that intake costs like 4k.

you might also try to contact indy. they have been said to have some carb intakes in the works and so does xv up in new york.

You can get the intakes by themselves. I think they are about $550. I know Jerry (hemidup) had one but he might have sent it back to Art @ Henson Motors (1-800-530-5337). I wouls also think you could open up the intake to work with a 6.1 head.

On a 5.7 block, hot rod mag dyno tested that intake against the 5.7 car intake and the 6.1 intake. There was a severe port mismatch hurting the 6.1, but here are the results.

    --------horsepower-----------torque
    -------MP--5.7---6.1------mp---5.7---6.1

Steve, I have a good freind at comp cams and he is going to grind what ever I want. Right now it is looking like something in the 264-268 at .050 intake and theexhaust at 266-270 on a 106-108 lobe center and .630-650 lift. At PRI show jessel said they were working on a rocker setup. I really just want adj. rockers. kkd60, I have seen those numbers, just understand that the mp intake may still only flow 90% and the rest just suck worst. I won't use one that is less than 96%

I see you migrated over from DTW, welcome!

How does the PPP Intake compare to these numbers?
