    426 Hemi-1.5 vs. Half Shafts-.5

So yall know I broke a half shaft a couple weeks ago......

    426 Hemi-1
    Half Shaft-0

Well yesterday while driving in town....BAM!!!

Car wouldn't go into gear or anything....DAMMM

    426 Hemi-2
    Half Shaft-0

Called triple AAA...am with my wife in Baton Rouge, La. so going to a unknown dealership was scary with my...SLIGHT Mods.

Got a call from the Dealership this moring...no broken halfshaft but instead the new one I had somehow slipped out a little and just needed to be reset and fluids refilled...no cost to me cause they covered it under powertrain warranty (HHAHAHAH..those guys were awesome) and I was on my way.
    426 Hemi- 1.5
    Half Shaft- .5

    All is ok now.

    Hmm.. half shaft slipping OUT?

That could very well be a situation where the torque distorts the drive line angles SO MUCH that the half shaft breaks to bad angles, not just straight up torsional stress...

Were you on the gas hard when that happened?

I was merging into traffic coming off an interstate....rolling aobut 40 MPH and then Gassed it....not WOT but some good petal...

Not sure what happened...when I had the Trans O-Ring fixed my dealership at home mentioned my new half shaft that was installed down in Houston looked like it was a little funny but wasn't a concern.

I am happy to say my wife, our puppy, and myself took a trip to her parent's house 632 miles away and only filled up once...380 some odd miles on the 1st tank...21 MPG per my calculator.

I will post a full description and initial write-up in a few days.

I don't know how you did that. You sir are obviously a man of great restraint. I'd be wearing a sign that says: "I can get you anywhere within a mile of your home on only 1 gallon of gas, but what a ride!!!"
