    392 Lust

I've got 392 lust in a bad way and I need your help. Either help me to accept (rationalize) it or help me break its grip. I can afford it, but its not like I don't have other places I could spend the money

What were your motivations for dropping this kind of money in your car?
Did you do it while you still had warranty?
Do you expect to keep the car forever or do you just expect to take a beating when it's time to move on?

I think it's actually a sickness......lol.There is no way to rationalize it......it's a personal choice of how insane you want to be.

A place in Round Rock built my stroker motor...you need to check out Inertia Motorsports, they are right up the road from you and a vendor on this site.

Yes, there's no rational reason to spend the kind money we've spent, other than for the love of massive horsepower. Speed and power are king. And I would agree with Red on where to go for your fix.

Inertia Motrosports (Stu) is also building my 383 5.7L based stroker as well.. It should be installed in 4-5 wks... I only have 16K on my 1 yr old charger.. it's purly addicting.. I started off my getting 20" rimmz and a CAI... now less than a yr I taking my practicly new Hemi and putting a monster in there..... I can tell you this.. I'd rather not have it anyother way..lol.....I did it only b/c my wife said I could.lol

so what options are out there? strokers? what displacement is safe for a 5.7 block with awesome power gains? Jason, i see you went with 383. is that stroked or just bored out? I haven't been interested until recently and now want to research my options.

Mine is a 383: bored and stroked.. I have a 4" bore and it's stroked to 3.79 I think..lol... I like my set up b/c I feel that anything larger than a 4" bore might start making cyl wal flex or even heat issues.. I'm prolly wrong but that was my thinkin in the decision process. Plus at the time no one had a 383 w/a 4" bore.

I spent a few hours talking to Stu at the most recent dinner meeting and then another few hours talking to him at his shop. If I do this, it will be with Stu, and I may have a nice low mileage 6.1 engine if somebody is interested.

could always use the heads off of it intake manifold etc.. and even use the block and scrap the pistons or sell them on ebay.. be a cheap build if you do that..

have him set you up with a stroker with all the options

yup my top end it whats really costing my some coin on my build.. it would have been alot cheaper if I had a 6.1 to use for parts vs the 5.7...

The 5.7 block can be bored out to 4" safely. The 5.7 actually has thicker cylinder walls than the 6.1 so it is safer to bore the 5.7 out.
