    2008 Chrysler 300c SRT-8 Observation

I dyno'd the car recently and made 381hp/390tq in 3rd gear and 4th matched it after idling for 1/2 hour. I am going to be hitting the rollers again with my custom tune I made. The car seems a lot more solid after adding something I am sure you all will give me crap about.. I threw on one of those taylor throttle body spacers.. it actually seems to work quite well and I've had great results with the car responding to my tuning.. what is everyone's thoughts on those things? I'd say it's helped a lot more then the Mopar CAI or even cat deletes..

    BTW car has:

    Mopar CAI
    Mopar Corsa Cat Back
    Custom Cat Delete
    Taylor TB Spacer
    Billet Catch Can
    Factory 20"

I have never known a TB spacer to do anything on a street car. I would be interested to see a before and after spacer on a dyno graph.

I think it might have something to do with pulling the TB off the intake. I have noticed that intake is hot enough to fry an egg on it after the car idles for a bit. on the performance pages on the car it's responding quite a bit better in the 0-60 and also in the 1/4. I can't wait for the next dyno day up here! I should also note that I have been using a DSP for tuning. I had a Duster360 Hemi Tune, also Using a Drag-on Tune. I just modified a 93 CAI tune and it's seeming to be quite a bit better then both. Can Tunes?

We tested these and at WOT saw a 3hp increase in low RPM HP and 3hp decrease in high RPM HP. Since we were focusing on WOT and higher RPM power (above 4k) we shelved it.

I've noticed now from a dig she's a lot easier to light them up, also coming out of 1st it will bark 2nd and 3rd gears sometimes if it hits right 4th. I've noticed around 40mph this car feels like a dog when you kick it down, is that something to do with being between gears? I mean if you stand on it from a dig it's great, 50mph great.. just like the dead zone is 40..

Here's the dyno graph. 68 degrees and raining like a SOB. Car spun a bit up top on the dyno. Done at Modern Automotive Performance in Plymouth MN @ Boost 4 Boobies Breast Cancer event!

Anyone have any idea with the power numbers what it should do in the 1/4? I have been looking all over the place and I am seeing numbers less doing 12.98's to 13.3 and with numbers a few hp lower doing anywhere form 13.10 to 12.70's.. I don't know why they are all over the place but the onboard best has been a 12.65 @ 114. I would go to the track and test it out but the only track that is local is 1/8th and 1/4 mile tracks are 2 1/2 to 3 hours away. :(

Number one-TBS is a waste, start over. They just don't do much on these cars.

Second, barking tires in 4th is more of an indicator of poor traction... while you're spinning I'm winning.

Third, since my bone stocker has run dozens of 12.8x in good air, I'd want some real improvements. Trap speed of 114 is simply not likely. Real times come with a slip. The onboard stuff is fun but not really that accurate.

What do you suggest for tires? I had 2 of the best I've seen rated for the car.. Hankook Evo 12's and Goodyear Eagle F1's. I have the original set of rims for the car I might get rid of the Evo 12's and put some new skins on. Right now the car doesn't spin at all from a dig it just barks the gears with my current tune and how I have the shifts setup. I can program out the barking but I like it. LoL

I just picked up a new squeak in the front end.. sounds like the driver side.. I've greased and lubed all the connections.. what the hell is this old squeaking swing set sound? Is there something pressed that is making this sound? it's anytime the road surface changes from flat it starts to sound like a metal on metal squeaking sound. extremely annoying.. sounds like a sway bar end link squeek but I greased the piss out of them with my needle and grease.
