    LX March 2006 LXOM: Netsrac

    Written by Netsrac

    OK where do I start?

I first have to thank NorthEastern08 who helped design the LXForums emblems for which I received most of my votes. It was an idea that turned into reality thanks to all the members here.

    Now a little about myself…
I was born in West Germany back in July ’67 to a German mother and a Jamaican father, guess that makes me a Germaican army brat. We then moved to England.

Our family moved from England to Quebec Canada in ’73 and I have been here ever since. I grew up in a small town, but never far away from the city.
L-R; Sister, Dad, Me, Mom & Brother

I have always loved computers ever since I got a TRS80 (remember them) for Christmas one year. Unfortunately I never pursued a job in computers as I moved out of the household at the ripe ole age of 17 and did a lot of odd jobs (grocery packer, salesman, deliveryman) then at the age of 22 I went to join my dads company.

Well that lasted 7 years, even though people were betting it would not last more than 2. It was not a happy parting, as we did not speak for almost three years.
Well I went out and put my nose down to the grindstone (got a degree in computers) and made a pretty good living for myself.

Things started looking up, patched things up with my dad, I met someone bought a house and got married.

Unfortunately the marriage did not work out as I am presently getting divorced.

Now we time warp to Oct’05, well marriage is on the way out and so is the minivan.

Time to feel young again (hmmm 38 still young) so I go and get my Magnum R/T, but before I get it, I search the Internet for everything I can find out about the Magnum, then I stumble across this place. I can’t say how happy I was, this place actually convinced me to buy the Magnum.

I am also returning to the family business after a 9-year absence, and got great advice from many of the members here.

Some people consider me crazy for the amount of time I spend here, but I consider this as my second family; they have been nothing but helpful and good to me.

I wanted to give back as I always do with my actual family, so I came up with the idea of the LXForums emblems and hosting a Meet & Greet.

Thanks again everyone, I hope to make a worthy LXOM

BTW iRock, you have beautiful feet!!!

Great write up, sounds like life has throw it's curves at you, but your smile sure doesn't show it. Not here, nor at the coffee shop in Brampton!

Good write up, it's nice to get to know you. You look great in the crown. Hope the size 6 shoes don't pinch your feet! Really well deserved, it was a lot of work for those decals. And being a supportive member of the forum. Congrats! Enjoy!

    Carsten,

Congrats on the LXOM recognition. After all your hard work on the emblems, you definitely deserve it. Hopefully we'll meet someday and I'll buy you a cold one.
