    March 2005 LXOM: markyneutron

    written by markyneutron

WOW!! Talk about “Shock and Awe”, a huge Thank-you to my nominator(s) and all those votes especially considering the other nominees this month, I am totally humbled and honored (I’ll use American spelling today) to be the first Canadian to win LXOM.

Obviously my real name is Mark. I’m 34 and I work for Chrysler at Brampton Assembly (home of the LX yay!). My job title is Production Specialist “B” which is to fill in for sick and absent workers in my area and if there is nobody missing then I’m spare to give extra breaks. It is a great job as I never wind up doing the same job two days in a row and that prevents boredom. I also get to help resolve the trouble spots in my area. I am in the body shop and to me there is nothing more beautiful than bare metal LX’s moving by all day except maybe Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl. I am on midnight shift and going through the night adjustments for me is so-so but in time it will be better. Last time round it took about two months to adjust but now I know what sleep pattern I need to be on.

The last year has been like a whirlwind to say the least. I was on indefinite layoff, then recalled to work at the end of March 04, on to six and seven day weeks, then the dastardly 9 hour shifts on top of that, to the implementation of the third shift this month. Somewhere jammed in there I ordered a Black Magnum RT (AKA “the beast”) and 12 short (short???) weeks later it was in my driveway.

Driving the magnum has made me feel like I’m in high school again especially in the snow, as I grew up in Saskatchewan where snow is the dominant weather pattern FROM late September to mid April. I had so much fun driving those days and I am HAVING such fun now. Thank God for RWD on the LX platform.

I would not be in the position I am now if it wasn’t for all of you. Your orders helped create a runaway success that has added jobs and helped secure my future. I owe you all a debt of gratitude for that.

I would like to thank Magnumfreak for pointing me to this site and DMAG, and E8502 for making this “The best damn LX site on the internet period”

My winning is a credit to the members of this site as I wouldn’t be this active here if this wasn’t such a great group. You guys rock!!!!!

LX pride is on our side!

(The Rev. has to turn away)
Now I am gonna lose my manly composure! That was one of the humblest and most sincere things I have ever read on this board.
Mark, you deserve this so much. Congratulations!
Now, brothers, I need a minute..

Congrats and great job. Beautiful car. I love the sexy suds pic. Nice! 8)

I hope to see it in person someday soon...

...meaning, can you hook me up with a name and number to call and arrange a tour for these fine guys and gals, those over at 300cforums.com, 300mclub.org, and DodgeIntrepid.net?

I'm dying to get these groups together for some big time enthusiasm and showing off of our rides.

I've even got a letter and email in to Dieter Zetsche, but I've heard no response yet. Last year he responded with a "can I give you a raincheck for 2005", due to the LX launch activity. Now I wanna cash in and get up there. Can you help me?

At GM Marky's job is referred to as the "UR" man, which stands for urinary relief. I know that that's not all that is covered but this is the coveted position in the plants all over the world. Marky you have it made.

    You deserve it.

    Paul.
Y'all know I got me a Magnum, why else would i be here?

    Congrats

    Mark,

Congratulations! It's a well deserved honor (or honour as you would say). You went above and beyond to help me with my difficulties in HAVING my Magnum built! It's great to have a friend at the factory.

    Welcome back Merky!
You know what would be very ccool? To have Marky and the restof Brampton assmembly sign someones special ORDER car or a plaque as its built! Then that plaque or peice of posterboard comes back to the buyer. SO very cool!
    Could that be done Marky?
