WOW!! Talk about “Shock and Awe”, a huge Thank-you to my nominator(s) and all those votes especially considering the other nominees this month, I am totally humbled and honored (I’ll use American spelling today) to be the first Canadian to win LXOM.
Obviously my real name is Mark. I’m 34 and I work for Chrysler at Brampton Assembly (home of the LX yay!). My job title is Production Specialist “B” which is to fill in for sick and absent workers in my area and if there is nobody missing then I’m spare to give extra breaks. It is a great job as I never wind up doing the same job two days in a row and that prevents boredom. I also get to help resolve the trouble spots in my area. I am in the body shop and to me there is nothing more beautiful than bare metal LX’s moving by all day except maybe Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl. I am on midnight shift and going through the night adjustments for me is so-so but in time it will be better. Last time round it took about two months to adjust but now I know what sleep pattern I need to be on.
The last year has been like a whirlwind to say the least. I was on indefinite layoff, then recalled to work at the end of March 04, on to six and seven day weeks, then the dastardly 9 hour shifts on top of that, to the implementation of the third shift this month. Somewhere jammed in there I ordered a Black Magnum RT (AKA “the beast”) and 12 short (short???) weeks later it was in my driveway.
Driving the magnum has made me feel like I’m in high school again especially in the snow, as I grew up in Saskatchewan where snow is the dominant weather pattern FROM late September to mid April. I had so much fun driving those days and I am HAVING such fun now. Thank God for RWD on the LX platform.
I would not be in the position I am now if it wasn’t for all of you. Your orders helped create a runaway success that has added jobs and helped secure my future. I owe you all a debt of gratitude for that.
I would like to thank Magnumfreak for pointing me to this site and DMAG, and E8502 for making this “The best damn LX site on the internet period”
My winning is a credit to the members of this site as I wouldn’t be this active here if this wasn’t such a great group. You guys rock!!!!!
LX pride is on our side!
