My heartfelt thanks to all of you that chose me for LXOM: with all the incredible cars and people in this forum, it is indeed an honor. Although I’ve only been active in the forum a few months, I feel as though I know many of you like brothers and sisters. My wife has much respect and admiration for many of you as well. I go through withdrawals if I can’t get to a computer and jump in at least once a day to check out the latest scuttlebutt. I’d also like to give a BIG thanks to High Horse Performance for sponsoring the LXOM program. Thanks also, to the administrators who take time out from their busy lives to keep us up and running, just so we may have a fun and educational place to hang out.
Now…a little about the “Weet”: My real name is Mike and I am 47 years old. I am proud to say that after high school, I took a three year vacation in the Marine Corps working as a mechanic on just about anything that had wheels. (Not including jets and choppers.) I have been an employee of the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years now. Please…no “going Postal,” cracks. (It makes my trigger finger twitch!)
Many have inquired about how I chose “Butweet” as my ID. When I was younger, there wasn’t a Saturday night that went by, that you wouldn’t find me watching Saturday Night Live when Eddie Murphy was in the cast. I was so obsessed with his “Butweet” skits my friends started calling me “Butweet” or “Weet” and thus the nickname.
I’m fortunate to have an awesome family. I met my beautiful and loving wife Kathy, at work many years ago. She was a new hire, and we became kind of chummy. The rest is history. She is 42 and we have four children… ages 14, 16, 19, and 20. The 14, 16, and 20 year olds are girls. Any of you with young daughters are in for a real adventure when they become teen-agers. Some of you that have been through this are chuckling right now----- I know you are! One of Rev Hammer’s relatives is running our household; his name is “Bud”. Bud is a rescued tomcat from North Carolina. He is missing two front teeth and loves to lick his privates while sitting on the living room carpet in front of company. Thanks Rev!
Before I got the Mag…I spent my free time playing tournament 9 ball, swing dancing with Kathy, bow hunting, fly fishing, and barbequing brisket, ribs, butts or any other animal. Now it seems that most of my spare time is consumed by our Magnum and all of you folks. LOL
Kathy is responsible for the Mag in our driveway. While we were at a Dodge dealer for unrelated circumstances, she spotted a Vanilla Magnum in the showroom and just about flipped. I thought she had ants in her pants. I tried to keep my composure, knowing that purchasing one of these beauties was never going to happen. A couple days later she said, “I think you should go check out the Magnums.” Well, I was half way to the dealer before I realized I hadn’t kissed her, or even said goodbye. After 7 hours of mumbo jumbo at the dealer, we finally had a deal.
Who would have thought that because I own an LX….I have a whole new group of friends that I am proud to know. There are truly some class acts in this group. LX Forums is more than a place to exchange information about cars. We have shared deeply, personal struggles and supported one another in prayer and well-wishes. We laugh as we share jokes and wince when we read the pissing matches and whining. Thank you one and all……………………… You totally ROCK!!!
Best Regards,
Mike
