What to say….hey finally here…thank you to all.
4+ years now and this place is still part of my daily routine….crazy. I won’t bore you with who I am etc. I’ll just ramble about stuff and then say thank you.

The Rambling Part
Soooooooooooo, what started as a general search for an upgrade to a daily driver resulted in finding a great group of individuals… not just in the North East but all over the country. Back in ’04, I was going crazy trying to figure out what to buy. Nov. ’05, stars aligned and I found a used Magnum that fit the bill. Below is a pic of when I first brought her home (to work) after a 1.5 hour ride from the dealership in CT. I could not stop grinning about the power and how she drove. I put 400 miles on the ticker the first day. That’s my old ride on the right…yes, a Mustang which I drove nearly everyday for almost 12 years and 300 miles shy of 200K.
Story on the Stang
Now I’m part of the Mopar family and off I go searching and find a couple of LX web forums. Sign up for a couple dedicated Magnum forums…slow responses from members etc. I think Matt (KGBpro) was the biggest poster back then when he was getting his rear suicide doors installed. I signed up for LXF, but ignored the site. I was a really mild lurker at best. Spring ‘06 comes and I attend the big 2 day Mopar event at E-Town. I wanted to mix it up with the old school cars, but my anxiety about a day waiting in the staging lanes leaves the Mag home. I drive to the event instead with some friends. Walking to the pit area, passing the staging lanes, first cars running ...LXs, 2 lanes filled with them…”hey, see I should have brought my car…crap”. Did not know there would be so many there and that the racers were from this very forum. Being somewhat reserved…“somewhat” … I never bothered to befriend the guys there. I like to credit the NE crew for keeping that Big Mopar Event at E-town alive.
Fast-forward … I eventually found some of those racers (The NE Crew) hiding here on LXF. Annnnnnnnd….the LXForums addiction starts. Here is my first M&G… a car show Sept ’06. Most will recognize that guy wiping the tire …do you know him? The other 2 …. ChasB and Dano. Eventually others showed up… RandomAccess, Koby. A small group, but I thought it was pretty cool that guys from all over the NE would come to get together. That was one of the most relaxing days with some great laughs. After leaving the show the car throws the infamous P0128 code. Not an issue LXF is backing me up
The addiction to the forum gets locked in.
Fast-forward 3 weeks… racing? .... I’m in!
My first time slips with the Freak… took some time but I figured out how to keep getting the times lowerSee Sig area… it did help that the car turned out to be a”Factory Freak”
Next race…HHP’s first Frozen Balls & Bearings Shootout in November…the Freak takes the win. I am fricken hooked!!!...When is the next race?
See some of the action here (compliments of Aikidoka…Bill)…watch to the end… very funny stuff. I’m just posting link because of one bad word and a bird….lol. After seeing this vid it came out that Erik was teaching Bill how to sand bag and that’s how bill’s v6 made it to the finals… who would do such a thing?... lol
Time rolls on and the cars kept getting faster…ok maybe not mine J (working on that) One day this big idea comes out from the crazy characters in the Chat sessions; with JMatt and FlyByU taking the lead. The basic idea: send a trophy back and forth between members that set a record at the drag strip as bragging rights. Well, the rest is history. If you drag race your car, you know about the Footballs and LX drag race records. A data base used all over the country that all Hemi racers gauge their car against. Cheers to you all.
THE FOOTBALL THREAD
The football thing has been a lot of fun and sometimes very very interesting. At least it forced me to improve my Photoshop skills just a little.
Some members may still not know who I am. I provided a link to the search button … http://www.lxforums.com/board/search.php …. Sorry could not resist![]()
The Thank You Part
I can go on and on but want to get this done. Seriously, you all are a great bunch of people. Thank you for all the laughs, all the knowledge, sharing parts of your life and wasting dedicating a boat load of time to LXF.
To the NE Crew (including the members that come racing in the NE), you guys are the best. THANK YOU for always being around and all the laughs and being great FRIENDS.
Sincerely,
Stell
