In a galaxy far far away …. Oh wait … wrong one …
So SMosher got LXOM huh? This whole LX thing started in June of 2007 when I got wind of a new job with much higher pay than what I was getting at that time. I knew then it was time for a new car, but which one?
The Car
I went to our local Dodge dealer and looked at the Chargers and drove a couple but couldn’t land a deal with the guys on a black R/T… Besides, they were just not my style.
I went to the Chrysler dealership to take a glance at the 300s and fell in love. The 300C fit my bill cause I wanted the classy look of a car and the power of a the HEMI. So we picked out a Silver SRT8. I was buying this turd till I found out about the lack of a warranty. I pushed the keys back and said no deal till you can find me something no one has.
Then they had this SRT – Design that had the same interior I liked in the SRT8 and the same rear deck spoiler as the SRT8. And it had 20” wheels like the SRT8. No big deal to me. Now for the color … This Steal Blue was the seal on the deal. Who has a Steal Blue 300 in my town? No one.
Everyday I drove this car I just got more gah gah over it. I then went and looked a little deeper in the internet to find other folks just as gah gah over these cars as I was. I found a car club in my area and joined up right away thanks to Bruno. I read all about the club and the people that were part of it as of October 2007. It was kewl till it blew apart in early January 2008.

The Club
Bubbamagnum and I talked about an idea of creating a club based on stuff we knew we didn’t want in a car club an acted upon that. We knew if it didn’t pan out then we would be just some dudes with some nice cars and that was it. After talking to a few others around the LX world it was decided that bubbamagnum and I move forward on building what you know of today as CenCalLX.
He made the post and it started a landslide. After many months of many events it’s become very clear in fact that this is more than a community of friends with cars, it’s become a family of support, ideas, friends, brothers, sisters and far beyond anything I can ever imagine. I go to sleep thinking about this club and I wake up thinking about this club. My main goal is help, assist and to provide anything I can for this group. I have been told by a member that a club is a living thing and need to be nurtured so it matures as a whole. This club is what got me where I’m at and I’d just about anything I can for the members.
The Members
A note to the members that got me this award. You all mean the world to me. I don’t mind working on your cars. I don’t mind eating your food. I don’t mind handing you cash. This month’s LXOM doesn’t belong to me. It belongs to us. LXOM is a gracious award to those who go above and beyond the call in the LX community. I still don’t feel I’ve done my share. I owe this award to our club members. They made me what I am. I do what I do because of you folks. I’ll say it again to you folks … This is our award.
