    April 2009 LXOM: plcman

First off; THANK YOU to all that voted for me and to all Lxforums members. This is very humbling for me to have been bestowed this honor. I feel that everyone that was nominated deserved this also.

My story began many years ago with my very first car a 1971 Dodge Demon Sizzler (hemi orange). This was my baby, (I wish I had some pictures) it had a 318, 2 bbl carb. and a 3 speed on the floor, no radio, no AC but it was new and was mine. After that there was my 1974 Dodge Charger SE 400 auto with all the bells and whistles. There were many cars in between but they were never like my first 2 Dodge’s.

Now, in 2005 I was looking for a new car, it had to be fast and look good. So I looked at all the offerings at the time but I could not stop looking at what Dodge had to offer. I was torn between the Magnum and the Charger. I chose the Charger; and I set out to look for the perfect car for me. I could not find a Black Charger R/T road and track (SRT at the time was out of my price range if I could have found one) on the lots that did not have a sun roof, and many dealers would not order what I wanted. So I found a small dealer south of Jacksonville, that would order the car for me, and they did. The salesman told me they could not guarantee when it would arrive, I said that was ok, just order it. I waited for 4 months and on December 23, 2005 I took my car home. During this time I searched the internet for all I could find about this car and found Lxforums, and what a place this is! At first I just posted here and there, but it is something that I look forward to looking at to see what people are doing now. I have met so many people that I now can call my friends, because of this Forum and the FLXC organization that I found.

During the wait I told the dealer that I wanted to change a few things on the car before I picked it up, and the salesman said huh? I gave him a list of part numbers that I found using this forum, and told him to change the hood, add the rear spoiler, change the badging and change the grill; he was reluctant to do this but did as I wished. After the parts were installed and they saw what the car changed to the salesman knew I was right.

This car has been the best vehicle I have ever owned bar none. Then it began the modding, new wheels Magnum SRT wheels at first and stayed on the car for nearly 2 years, BEE black pocket wheels now. Billet parts, half covers, headers hi flow cats, Jaak Paddle Hack…. And so the list grows.

Then it happened, a chance for me to really contribute to this forum, in a good way, Jaak found the 2 pins in the clock spring that led to a few posts about adding shifters; I said I could help with that. Then the Paddle thread started with many changes along the way till it morphed to what it is today. And after over 120 kits sent to many forum members around the world I truly understand the power of this Forum and the internet.

What I do for our cars is my passion and I am blessed to be a part of this. I have many new offerings to bring to our cars in the future and I am truly humbled by this honor as said before….THANK YOU!

Ray - you are WAY to humble. The shift paddles are only a scratch of what you've contributed. Your understanding of the PCM, the electronics, etc...is unapproachable. You are an asset to the community, help others without even being asked and are there as a stalwart of great information.

Was a pleasure meeting you in person in Ocala - privelege to have you here and as a friend.

    Congrats buddy!
