Angry What am I doing wrong???

Tried my first power brake, holeshot today.
Hit the ESP switch, the symbol lit up in the temp gauge pod.
Slapped autostick in "1", foot on brake, foot on gas.
Hit gas, rear end comes up, release just enough brake to let the tires spin.
NEVER smoked, spun like one revolution, no RPM increase.
I let off the brake, expecting a smoke show, throttle slams shut.
I did this three different times.
I've gotten more spin & smoke out of a 283 with a powerglide, back in the day

that disables esp 70%. ESP kicked in after your full rotation. I know on the SRT's you can fully turn them off by holding it for a few seconds, not sure how the RT's and Daytona's work.

Just a little brake and about 1/2 throttle should be enough to get the tires to smoke. With the ESP button OFF (on an R/T), ESP will not kick in again unless the throttle goes over about 3/4 or if the car starts to slide to the side (there is a form of yaw sensor in the steering).

don't load both pedals at once. go moderately hard on the brake, then hit 1/2 throttle and let up on the brake enough to let 'em spin at the same time. it's a similar movement to working a clutch pedal in terms of timing. Once you hear them bust loose get back on the brake just enough to stop yourself rolling. You can ramp up the gas at the same time also.

Since we have an open differential, it'll try it's best to light just the right-rear, clamping the brakes -just-so- and releasing -just-this-much- brake, but not letting off all the way just yet -should- get both rears into action.

Turning the steering wheel more than a little bit will let HAL think that you really want to go the way and he'll do his level best to make that happen. He's pretty good at too. That's where the 'noesp' mode comes in, cut power to the yaw sensor under the center console and HAL can't screw with you anymore.

I'm wondering if I've worn the right-rear brake enough that it doesn't match the left rear, which leads to my RT just lighting up the single tire almost all the time now. (34K, 150+ passes at the dragstrip and oh, maybe a few extra burnouts thrown in for good measure.)

    Practice, Practice, Practice!

If you go with an ESP MOD, (Any of the versions) you stomp your pedal to the floor, you will go sideways, smoking them up.

If you DONT have any ESP Mod done, Hold your brake pedal down about 1/2 way, Gas down it to about 1/3 and they should start lighting up. ( But you MUST turn ESP off on the dash panel for this).

My stock 2005 300C with the ESP off will smoke the tires at full throtle. I do need to have my foot on the brake pedal to do this. This was only made possible after I had my car reflashed at the dealer several months ago when a check malfunction light came on.

heh... full throttle smokes em up good. Must be a technique issue...

Don't go full pedal to the floor. just barely enough to keep from rolling.

Is there a NOESP thread? Once installed can you turn it on and off just as you do now your dash?
